TheCageDoor.net has learned that Houston’s Daniel “The Pit” Pineda’s next UFC fight has been announced. Pineda will be joining fellow Houstonian Andrew Craig on the UFC on FX 2 card in Sydney, Australia. UFC on FX 2 is set to take place on March 3, 2012. No contracts have been signed, but according to UFC.com, both fighters have agreed to the fight verbally.
Pineda (16-7-0) announced the news on his twitter, and TCD later confirmed it on UFC.com.
Pineda is 1-0 in the UFC after making quick work of Pat Schilling in his début on UFC on FX. He will be facing Mackens Semerzier, who is 1-0 in the UFC, with one no-contest. That no contest was against Robert Peralta. The two were scheduled for a rematch but Peralta had to pull out due to injury. His one win was a RNC against Alex Caceras (aka Bruce Leeroy) at UFC Fight Night 24. Before Semerzier made it to the UFC he went 1-3 in the WEC.
Craig is a perfect 6-0 and will be making his UFC début on the card against Aussie Kyle Noke. Noke (19-5-1) is 3-1 in the UFC. He lost his last fight to Ed Herman via heel hook in round 1 at UFC Live 5.
