I recently heard through a bird in the wind that Jason David Frank is scheduled to fight on the upcoming Strikeforce event in Austin on Feb 18. Well it seems he doesn’t have a an opponent, and although JDF and I are cool, I will be more than willing to not only come up in weight to fight him, but I will FIGHT THIS FIGHT FOR ONE AMERICAN DOLLAR!
I think its a great opportunity for everyone involved and will build a super show for Strikeforce on Showtime!!!!
I thinks its a no brainer. How could he pass up the opportunity to show he is a real MMA fighter and a good test for all my hype?!?!

Jason dodges fights lol good one but what’s up with these internet gangsters?! You boys need to get off mgy jock smh geez give him some room to breath. He doesn’t want to get embarrsed and is too old I think now. If he fights for strikeforce it’s going to be another set up fight because he has the money to do it. If he fights mgy then he’ll show that he’s a real fighter and prove everyone wrong. But that would only be one fight for him and probably his last. Mgy just needs to stop swinging those crazy hooks and throw some straight punches. He needs a real boxing coach because Sam Hoger doesn’t know a damn thing about HANDS!!!! Mgy has the heart to go all the way though just my two cents. And tge,only reason I don’t put my real name is because I don’t want to hurt one of y’all plus it would be very disrespectful to some.

1st, Sam Hoger DOES know about hands. And feet. 2nd, we have an incredible striking coach and anyone thats trained at our gym, whether their part of Team Hoger or not, will tell you that Coach Ali is as real as it gets. No offense, but to say that someone who’s competed in the UFC doesnt know anything about hands makes you sound somewhat ignorant.
OK im about 61 comments deep lol….Heres MY 2 cents.
This fight isnt’ gonna happen. Heres why: Jason isn’t fighting on Strikeforce as far as i know. Now everyone knows that Jason and i have had our words and ive always been a vocal critic. Well heres what most people dont know….i give the dude more credit than i did before because he called me out of the blue. We weren’t talking about hanging out or anything just that he wanted to tell me if i thought he was a joke to come out and train with him. i have alwasy said that Jason has got fighting skills and is a decent athlete but that the question is IF hes gonna fight quality fighters. Well….so i had to see for myself. So i went to train with Jason and spar in the cage.
Now i know that I may not be high on everyones stock after my last performance to be real about it i had dislocated my elbow pretty badly training fotr the fight and tore a tendon…i did not training up to the ffight after that and went against my coaches and doctor and fought. T is a tough dude and im not saying what the outcome would have been…but if you think that is representative of my ability you are SADLY mistaken. I was slow..in lots of pain and WAY out of practice. Ive trained with some veyr good guys since getting into MMA from Cali to houston and i know what good fighters look like so i went to take jason up on his offer….
For the second time in my life i got dropped. He dropped me in the first 2 minutes of the first round and it was a solid combo cause i tried to recover but went down hard.
Now im not saying anything about how a fight would go with other fighters…what i AM saying is that JAson isn’t a punk. So after we got done i watched his workouts per his invitation and he gets a lot of top guys in there….Ike, Mike B to name a couple….they all go hard with eachother. My point is that the issue of whether jason can actually fight doesn’t need to be argued cause he CAN fight. Hes strong fast and has solid skills. BUT…i still dont’ think this fight is gonna happen so i asked…and he said he doesnt wanna fight at all for a while.. .that he trying to train and get better. That the strikeforce deal has never been a deal and that hes not looking for any fights for a while. He knows how good everyone is ESPECIALLY a hungry Chico….and hes trying to get to be at his best. Basically he wants to train not fight for awhile and come back with more tools. And im sure that for jason hes not fighting for a living.
So whats my point?? i dont’ know. lol. but since ive been a critic i figured its only fair to put it all out there..ill always speak the truth even when its not convenient for me. So there it is…..
Well that was a long ass post (on this long ass thread) only to arrive at the same conclusions we already had estimated on the beginning.
1. It was a good try by Chico to get this fight.
2. JDF is allegedly a decent fighter.
3. Despite #2, he’s not taking any fights with legit opponents.
Only new info I have is that JDF leg-kicked Drew to the floor. Is that accurate?
if this fight dont happen, I heard chad cook pulled out of his fight with ike. damn that would be good rematch, we all know ike will take that.
If MGY, Chico or whatever you call Artenas Young is so great…………….. How come Strikeforce does not have him on the fight card? I guess they were not impress with the Chad Cook fight..
I do see how MGY would have to use someone like JDF to get on the card, but JDF is no fool!
I think Houston is waiting to see MGY fight at 185, so hopefully he gets to fight the winner of the Craig/Kirk fight.

@Drew I respect your post… your right about what you said the question is where and when will JDF jump in the cage with quality fighters? I have sparred with him and Ike, when I was getting into MMA. I only had a few months of training before I got a chance to spar with JDF to some people its like… “ok whats the big deal?” Well wait till you catch a spinning heel kick from JDF even one that was blocked… I managed to take some of the punches and stand with him about a min or so but the second his legs went in for strike, I was out and couldnt recover at all
Truth be told some people love him, some people hate him… but lets be honest the guy doesnt need MMA to be a success hes already made it, and were actually lucky that hes brought some attention to the Houston MMA scene and while he isnt responsible for all our success as a scene he sure has brought a few new eyes to the game.
I respect MGY and the game he play’s. MGY called out someone more well known than him for a fight, someone that if he stands with him 3 rounds and goes to a split decision, or manages to sub/tko this person would elevate him to a whole new level in the MMA scene on a national level. Very well played MGY and it takes quite a bit of balls to move up in weight classes. (Considering I think he would have to take a heavyweight fight since I havent seen JDF cut to 205 yet)
In the end this is a fight i’d love to see, and regardless of the winner my hat is off to the 2 fighters that step in the cage to do battle.

Naw jdf dropped me with ….i think… head kick then 3 punch combo…i know he finished with a punch..so i gave him.his props for that. Drew – I respect your posts (and your own skills). The fact that you divulge your experience with that sparring session speaks volume about your character… and about JDF’s skills so thanks for the insight.
I neither love nor hate JDF. In fact, I wish him well. My thing, speaking generally, is that nobody should make a mockery of Mixed Martial Arts with WWE-like matches, padded records, shady promoting, biased / hyperbolized reporting, sloppy judging or anything else in that regard. Especially not guys that know better and ESPECIALLY not guys capable of doing better, like you say this man can.
Only the POSITIVE kind of attention needs to be brought to light regarding Houston, in my opinion. The other type of “attention” does the city a disservice and is a step backwards. We sure as hell don’t need it when the sport is barely out of its infancy and at an impressionable age.

just that hey thats how it went down. i was personally quite surpirsed that he called. all good though. i was just saying that i think the fights not a reality for anyone…i dont’ think jason is ineterested in fighting anyone on strikeforce. but if so id love to see chico in there. Chico is maybe the hardest working mma fighter in texas. seriously to those who don’t know him ….thats what he does.

Mike Calimbas u nailed it. His way of doing things could be bad in the long run. If people see all that fake stuff, shit real fighters might not want anything to do with Houston..The stage should be for real fighters.

Legendary, I see what youre saying to a certain degree, but how does beating someone that isnt proven in mma gonna elevate someones career. Hes known for a kids show that was popular 15 yeats ago. Kimbo Slice was a HUGE name when he entered mma, but when Seth Petruzelli beat him, it didnt really do much for his career. Same with Chad Griggs when he beat Bobby Lashley. Yes, its not on the same scale as that, but its the same principal. I think Chico just wants to do what he loves and put on a show for the fans. Cant knock a guy for that.

Cats have been lobbying for MGY to get a fight at 185. I’ve told everyone that will listen that I want to fight him. It don’t matter about the money. This should be a walk in the park right? I want this fight ASAP! I’m down to 185 myself, so lets fight.
