Texas based fight promotion, Shark Fights is presenting their next card, Shark Fights 15, on May 27th; the event is scheduled to take place in New Mexico, at Santa Ana Star Center, Rio Rancha, New Mexico. The card, according to the Shark Fights website, includes Houston fighters and is scheduled as follows.
Chris Camozzi vs. Joey Villasenor
Jeremy May vs. David Branch
Robbie Guiterrez vs. Russell Wilson
Kasey Yates vs. Fredrico Crosby
Adam Gonzales vs. Zac Hynes
Edgar Lopez vs. Eric Baca
Armando Mendiblez vs. Randy Ray Sanchez
Of note, Houston native Tim Snyder (12-7-1), will be taking on Frank Gomez (9-2). Snyder (who fights out of Paradigm) has rebounded well from the string of defeats he suffered in 2009 and 2010, with victories over Arron Barringer and Alex Black. Gomez is a local favorite, and stands four inches taller than Snyder.
If the name Frank Gomez sounds familiar, it’s because he is scheduled to take on Houston’s Daniel “The Pit” Pineda for the 145lb Legacy FC title on July 22. No word on what (if anything) would change should Snyder beat Gomez.
Also on the card is Hoger MMA‘s Artenas Young. Young (5-3) is the underdog against Kyle Bracey (8-1), Bracey is originally from Illinois, but relocated to Texas to work with at risk youth, before training full time. A win over Bracey will be great for Young’s record, but not easy. Bracey captained East Illinois University Wrestling team under the coaching of former NCAA Champion Ralph McCausland, UFC champion Matt Hughes and Belarussian National Champion Vladimir Anoshenko from 1998-2002.
Also of interest, is that according to Shark Fights, Young is claiming Oxnard, CA as his home town.
TheCageDoor.net has been unable to determine broadcast details as of yet, however, it is thought that it will NOT be on HDNet, as Titan Fighting Championship 18 is set to broadcast the same evening.
