Mike: This fight will be a battle of two up-and-coming and undefeated amateurs in David Armas (1-0) and Colin Wright (2-0). I do not know too much about David Armas other than the fact that he is one of SBA’s highly up and coming amateurs. As far as Wright, he has displayed a very active guard, looking to submit off his back in his previous fights. It is also important to note that out of their combined opponents, Wright has the most impressive win, over the now 3-1 Victor Russell. For that reason and from what I’ve seen first-hand, I’m going to have to go with Colin Wright notching his third amateur win via submission.  Prediction: Wright via Submission

Justin: Colin comes from the ever growing stable of fighters from Paradigm.  David hails from a passionate Silverback camp. Despite Armas having really good standup, I think Collins ground game might be too much for him at this point.  I’m taking Colin in this scrap. Prediction: Wright via Submissioin

Rich: Armas showed good stand and  above average submission defense in his last fight. Colin has shown his style of grappling transitions perfectly to the cage having won both of his fights by a combined total of less than a minute. This fight is a classic revenge fight with both fighters having defeated the others teammates in previous outings. Look for Armas to try and keep this fight standing while Colin while look to take the fight to the ground with the first opportunity he gets.  Prediction: Wright by Submission

Levi West Name Charles Lloyd
NR TCD rank NR
185 Weight 185
2-0-0 Record 0-0-0
Team Tooke Gym Gracie Barra The Woodlands
Mike, Justin, Rich Picks

Mike: The brash Levi West has shown impressive skills and fast hands as of late, notching a Muay Thai win over a very experienced Nethaneel Mongonia at a recent College Station event. Despite recently taking nine-stitches around his right eye due to a recent sparring session mishap against training partner Ike Villanueva, West is excited to show a complete arsenal in this bout in additional to his hands. His opponent, Charles Lloyd is a BJJ blue belt out of Gracie Barra making his MMA debut. I am sure both fighters will come into this fight well-prepared and looking to impose their respective strengths. Based on what I know (and don’t know), I will have to go with Levi West via TKO. Prediction: West via TKO

Justin: If charles had more experience I would probably go with him.  Physically I think he presents some problems for guys.  However Levi has great boxing experience so I am going with him based on experience.  If he can keep Charles at bay I think he will win.  Different story if Charles gets him down. Prediction: West via Unanimous Decision

Rich: Llyod has good hands and is very comfortable on the ground. Levi may have some of the best hands in Houston and the former gold glove winner will surely look to use his biggest weapons early and often. Llyod will look to clinch and take this fight to the ground where he will have his best chance of victory. Prediction: West via KO

Guilherme Moreira Name Sean Holden

2-0-0 Record 5-2-0
Team Tooke Gym
Mike, Justin, Rich Picks

Mike: I’ve been hearing Guilherme Moreira’s name pop up multiple times recently as a prospect to watch. I hear he’s got impressive striking and is working hard to take his game to the next level at Team Tooke with Andrew Craig, Jace Pitre, and crew. This fight is a testimony to that desire as he will be taking on Sean Holden, a seasoned amateur fighter holding a 5-2 record out of Central Texas. I believe Moreira to be the betting underdog on paper going into this bout but I’ll go with what I’ve been hearing and say he (Gui Moreira) wins via KO. Prediction: Moreira vis KO

Justin: To be honest I don’t know much about Sean Holden so I have to go with what I know.  Moreira is a very good all around fighter, so I’m going with him. Prediction: Moreira via TKO

Rich: Holden likes to clinch and take fighters down where he uses good GNP to end the fight. Gil is one of the most well rounded fighters in his division and always brings an exciting fight. I think Gil’s reach will be the deciding factor in this fight. Look for Gil to stay on the outside and when able use his long limbs to secure the clinch. Prediction: Moreira by decision
