With the Legacy Fighting Championship 10 weigh-ins done, it’s time to fight; but first let’s talk about the changes, because my friends, there are a few.
Not everybody made weight. Not even close in some cases.
DJ Linderman came in at 195.5 for his fight against Gerald Harris. The fight was scheduled to take place at 185, but the since it was a non-title fight each fighter is allowed a 1 pound allowance; so technically Linderman was “only” 9.5 pounds over. Not to be outdone, Eric Davila came in 13 pounds over, weighing 183 for a fight with Mike Bronzoulis that was scheduled at 170 (Bronzoulis was a now show for the weigh-ins).
Harris declined the fight with Linderman; so rather than lose 2 fights off the televised card, Legacy chose to match up Davila and Harris.
Davila is seemingly rewarded for coming in some 13 pounds over by getting to fight a guy fresh out of the UFC. A win over Harris could be a huge leap forward in Davila’s career.
It’s a shame really, because the loser in all of this is Bronzoulis. Linderman is sent packing and is off the card all together.
Here is how the card shapes up now, after the changes:
