Prater earned a lots of respect and new fans with his gutty showing on Friday, dispite going 1-2 on the night. He lost a somewhat controversial decions in his opening round match up with Rich Crunkilton that by all accounts should have ended his night. But Crunkilton was hurt and could not continue so Prater was advanced to the second round where he faced off against
Despite a tumble outside the ring that seemed to momentarily shake him up, Prater pressed on and would take full advantage of his second chance opportunity by defeating fellow alternate winner Charlie Brown via decision. Unfortunately for Prater, he would face a very rested Drew Ficket in the finals.
The meeting between Prater and Ficket would be the second time the two have faced eachother. The first fight saw Fickett also win via submission. Prater had already found the equivilant of a championship fight (5 rounds) and was visibly tired going into his third fight of the night. Fickett got PRater to tap via a rear naked choke at 2:02 in the first round of the finals.

Sept 15 – UFC Fight Night in Austin

For those in the know…… Jon Kirk got off his couch and drove to SA for the Bellator fights. He didn’t train and was fighting in the wrong weightclass. Jon was dominated for 2.5 rounds and then came back for the KO in the third in typical Jaguar Fashion….he never gives up and is always dangerous.
Dale Mitchell got ROBBED. Dale lost to a home town favorite in a what was an easy 2-1 rounds for him after dominating his opponent fairly handily. Sucks to go against home town boys with hometown judges.
Prater fought back to back fights and all the way and had the short end of the stick with no rest and still did outstanding. Showed a true warrior heart and didn’t complain. Awsome to see.
