Malbrough Submitted By UFC Vet Rosholt
Kingwood MMA’s John Malbrough made the trip up to Ponca City, OK to take on UFC veteran Jake Rosholt for Cowboy MMA. John fought well but succumbed to an arm triangle late in the first round. It was announced early this week that Malbrough would be one of the fighters on Legacy FC’s July card. More on that next.
July Legacy Card Announced
Collin Cantrell joined our weekly podcast, Beyond The Cage Door, and announced an absolutely stacked card for the July show. The card will feature welterweight champion Mike Bronzoulis, Chad Robichaux, Jason David Frank, Carlo Prater, Efrain Escudero, Daniel Pineda and many more. The entire breakdown can be seen HERE. Lewis Loses Opponent, Scratched From Bellator 45
Bellator put on a show in Lake Charles, LA on Saturday night. The fights were entertaining, but unfortunately Houston’s Derrick Lewis did not have a chance to compete as scheduled. His opponent, Thiago “Big Monster” Santos withdrew from the fight on Thursday with an apparent knee injury. No replacement was found, unfortunately leaving Lewis without an opponent.
Garcia Promotions Releases July 1st Card
Garcia Promotions has released the card for Cage Combat 4, set to take place July 1st. It features two title fights, Manny Lozoya vs. Jacob Silva and Chris Lopez vs. Chop Rucker. The entire card is rundown HERE.

1. The reasons there is nothing in this post about Chico’s last fight is because it’s called the WEEKLY news and notes. That fight was a month ago to the day.
2. Our Shark Fights preview will be up in the morning.

BTW – You can keep getting new IP addresses, I’ll just keep banning them.
Get over yourself. I like Chico as much as anyone, but he has lost 2 of his last 3. Bigger than Houston doesn’t make much sense. You see blogs from those other fighters because they are blogging. Is Chico blogging? These guys posted the other day that any fighter or fan who wants a blog on their page can have one. If he wants to blog, tell him to blog! I, and I am sure others, would love to hear what he is doing out there in Albuquerque. Get off the jock and try and be realistic for a minute.
According to sherdog and mma.tv, Chico lost his fight in Colorado by split decision. I have not seen any video on the fight, so I can’t tell you how he looked. As you mentioned, he is fighting for Shark Fights in New Mexico on Friday, and will be taking on Kyle Bracey. This looks to be his toughest test to date in my opinion. Also on that card will be Paradigm’s Tim Snyder, who will be taking on Frank Gomez (Daniel Pineda’s next opponent in the July Legacy card). There is no word as to what fights (other than the main event between Camozzi and Villasenor) will actually be televised, but it would be awesome if our two Houston boys get on TV.
Both Snyder and Young are in fact on the SF15 main card.
Sorry, but I don’t think a 5-3 fighter is “bigger than Houston” considering the talent that is here locally. Just saying that discredits just about anything else you could ever say…
Look Chico is my team. We did not hang out, go to each others house ….but we talked I hope he does great inwhat ever ,nobody as heard from him because he is training down there….it is his responsible to let people know what’s going on(he is not a super star yet) I don’t think it is right for someone to be bashing someone that as been taking care of him through his career ……Chico as helped me in the amys but now he is doing his thing some Where else we miss him, I miss him ( gay )but please don’t cut on people that r trying to help out all htown fighter…..thank u shawn machado…..good luck Chico……sorry for the typo
