Houston Muay Thai Council

The unofficially named Houston Muay Thai Council had its first meeting on Sunday. The turnout was excellent with fighters, coaches and interested parties from all over Houston (22 in all). Look out for an update in the coming week.

Strikeforce Challengers: Prater back on Form

Carlo Prater gave the performance of the night at Strikeforce Challengers, and looked back to his old form, finishing the fight in a blink of an eye. Lee Higgins showed superb defensive jiu-jitsu against Ryan Couture who eventually managed to submit him in the third round. The betting sites had lee as a huge underdog, and by no means did he give Couture an easy fight.

Roger Gracie invites You To Train

In a recent telephone conversation with Roger, TCD discussed the upcoming Gracie Adventure.  Roger extended an invitation to all jiu- jitsu practitioners to attend the Gracie Adventure in Costa Rica in March. With six of the Gracie’s teaching there, it is sure to be a great experience.

Some of my family and I will be in Costa Rica teaching on the Gracie Adventure in March. It will be me, Rilion, Rolles, Igor, Kyra and Gregor; it will be a great experience. We invite everyone to come, fantastic jiu jitsu in paradise. People can find out more from the website, gracieadventure.com. I’m looking forward to it, plus I’ll be training for Strikeforce, so it will be part of my preparation,” Roger Gracie told TheCageDoor.net.

As noted, Houston’s latest addition to its BJJ family, Rilion Gracie is due to be teaching at the camp.
