ooooooohhhh boy. No disrespect to Ike as i don’t know the man personally, but i think this is a tough fite for ike to win. Chico is, imho, taylor made to fight ike. But one things for sure. the crowd is gonna win on this fight. I don’t think ike knows how to be in a boring fight and everyone knows that chico has got the speed and power to fight. Look forward to it guys.
the fights are on july 31st. not the 17th.
Very Nice! I thought Taylor had more fights tho?
@Kenny – Thanks! I’ve updated the post AND the calendar
ill be there even if my agent cant get me on the card, lol!!!!!!
“No offense to Ike?” Drew its too hard NOT to offend the tropical depression IKE. WTH kind of card is this you got Young back after that last performance, THAT HE EVEN LOST? Looking at the card, records, etc looks like the budget might be tight?
@The Truth – No disrespect, but if you’re not digging this card, maybe you just aren’t plugged in to Houston MMA enough. Because if you can’t get excited about bronz/harris young/villanueva moore/melancon and a rematch between rexroad and gardner, then maybe Houston MMA isn’t your bag.
Truth what is your deal?? you are one negative dude. and ive seen you say some positive things but then you just come back with this stuff. I assure you the budget isn’t tight for legacy as they are solid business men and with running around 12 shows they are gonna give opportunity for fighters who are up and comming too. im not gonna offend ike cause ive already complimented him in the past for his style and desire to fight the best. i like that dude. im just giving an opinion. Chico came back and won in impressive style with tko over an experienced fighter with a good record. Any good promoter knows you don’t throw a fighter to the dogs becuase of one lackluster performance. but here you are more or less insulting the fighters on the card, the promotion and Chico. It would be a fun card. Taylor Hebert is rumored to be on there too. That guy is monster and anyone who has trained with him or fought him knows that. I think itll be a fun card.
pretty excited about this whole card, of course most excited for the fans in houston because they will get to experience Steve Garcia live and uncut ! pretty pumped about Todd and Brian( both have a similiar style), i am looking foward to Ike and Chico (who is coming off a big ko win), but i think the best and most interesting match is Rexroad and our friend Craig Gardner. ( will be cool to see them fight with pro rules). Good job as always Mick !
good luck to all the fighters, especially Warren Stewart !
IVoz
Drew, pull your head out of everyone’s rear for one moment. I didn’t say throw him to the dogs, but there are a lot of fighters out there with more experience and more exciting than here, and even the dude who beat Young, Lightfoot, why isn’t he on the card? Look at all the losing records and 0-0..losing record is ok if you are exciting, but? You are right about the Taylor guy though, seen him at a grappling event, monster is right. BUT Youngs tko wasn’t “exciting” sorry man. THE MAIN point I am trying to make here is that there seems to be a pattern, sit back and watch.
I believe Steve Garcia is 6-3
Truth I hope your hands, can back up your mouth. You talking down on the wrong person. As for the card, me and my boy Steve Garcia gonna have the crowd on their feet, swangin and bangin. Good card Mick.
The fight of the night candidates for this one are:
145 – Greg Bellomy (1-0-0) v. Aaron Barringer (4-1-0)
These two fighters have styles that clash head on and will make for an entertaining fight!
Greg had an invite to stay at the Tapout House and train this summer at Jackson’s. However, he will have to respectfully decline the invitation to Albuquerque this go around since Aaron train’s out of Jackson’s before his fights. This one should be exciting to watch!
170 – Jeff Rexroad (1-0-0) v. Craig Gardner (0-0-0)
Rexroad V Gardner 2.0 Wow!!!! If you missed the first one, you sure missed something!!
@Ghostman – He is. I missed it doing the records. Fixed and thanks for pointing that out!
No worries!! By the way, Mick said to call him, he has more info!!!
I don’t know who this TBA character is but I’ll bet anybody $$$ that he gets submitted.
Truth- hahaha @ YOU. Yeah bro im laughing at you for sure. ive never disrespected you in any way and you are making an ass out of yourself. thing is i don’ have to disrespect you because you don’t have anyones respect here anyway. your the first Troll/joke of TCD. Every site has to have one of you so ill look at you as the requisite moron for this site. I tried to be civil and even asked you to grab a beer after my fight by i see that your mental capacity has been exceeded and your ability to comprenend more than one elementry concept is compromised. Im sure that life has presented its fair share of challenges for you the least of which may have been fundamental reading comprehension. Well bro for the future i don’t hole grudges and if you ever decide to be a regular guy and act like the rest of civilized society and use rational thought then im open to say hi and hope you have a good day. outside of that expect that youll be the source of my amusement on here and i will not likely dignify your remarks with serious responses.
yep, greg, steve, chico, ike, the executioner and Gardner’s pro debut…its gonna be a card for sure.
Sounds like a fun card. Young and Villanueva is gonna be exciting for sure. And the Taylor vs Hutton fight, is this the battle of sweet hearts or what? These are prolly the 2 nicest dudes in MMA period. I just hope Taylor don’t try to stand with Hutton. But Taylor’s crazy so who knows what will happen. And Moore vs. Melancon, WOW!!!!! Is this a #1 contender fight? Cause it sure seems like it. If Melancon wins, hows that gonna work with him and Ray having to fight each other? But we might not have to worry about that. I think Moore is at a different level.
ohhh and you wanna see me insult someone?? this is what i look like when i insult someone…. Taylor Hebert, the guys who making his debut at HW on here is a CHUMP. That guy is garbage …compared to Brock lesnar. hahahah i crack myself up. taylor will probably beat me like rented mule the next time i see him at Barnes and Nobles reading a newpaper.
@ Ratichek, you used a bunch of big words for that idiot and you know he wont understand them, but then you go and misspell every other normal word. LOL!! And @ Truth, your finally first in something. How does it feel?
Roko- yeah man i can’t win for losing on here!! lol. by the time i get done attempting to explain to this loon whats going on my dyslexia is raging so hard i can’t even hit the right button. Im stil trying to figure out why in his pygmy mind he thought he was at odds with me in the first place… i dno’t know the cat and all i know is what he has so carelessly revealed on here. like i told him before i don’t even know who he is. if he was broke down on the side of the road id prob stop and help him and never know it was him…who knows.
going out on a limb here but isn’t Edgar Verdin the guy that Ray “The Butcher” Burgos is going to beat up on May 14th?
and i am excited to see Taylor in action again and Rexroad V Gardner II
let me tell you somethin truth, pull out ur wallet, get u a ticket, watch me fight, and i guarantee youll never talk about my 0-2 record when u hear my name. these guys that are 0-0, and 1-0, are some of the top amateur fighters in this state, nevermind just houston. Rexroad and my boy/teammate Craig Gardner, Jordan Rivas, Talavera; as far as antiicipation, and talent, this is the best card ive seen yet. http://www.amateurcombat.com, just in case u wanna sign up and get ur gloves on. ill buy a ticket to watch. Westside!
anyone with something negative to say about this card has not been following Houston MMA. There’s a ton of talent on this card. you can’t just look at records because everyone now-a-days is skilled and tough. there are no real easy fights. most of us came up together in the amateurs and know what we bring to the table. i promise you all of us will train our asses off and do our best to put on a show. you don’t want to miss that
@Kenny and Brian i don’t know why you guys are even addressing this Truth guy. WE all know that records don’t always reflect how someone performs.
Kenny I hope you prove me wrong, seriously. The point is you guys are getting suckered into fighting for chump change because they are the only show in town (Legacy=nice show but pony up to your fighters). As I sit back and pull 3 jockstraps from Drews jaws, I can’t help but wonder how flexible he is without a spine. Oh and IKE “hands back up my mouth”? I just hope your gas tank can back up your fat A#$.
BTW admin if I get out of line in a “website” way shout and I’ll back off. I can’t help it Drew is like a ball of yarn to me, albeit a very large ball.
I’m glad to see all the hype about this card. I know most of the guys fighting and they are all true warriors who give their all regardless of the outcome.
There are several fights that are contenders for fight of the night. Brian vs Todd is gonna be killer… Mike B is always dangerous… And Taylor is justvplain scary. And like ghostman said if u missed the first fight with me and Craig you missed out on a GREAT fight. This promises to be one hell of a rematch as we are both well-rounded and like to put on exciting fights.
Truth I can’t wait to meet your punkass bro. Somebody point this punk out for me.
alright truth, i got a lot to prove to myself, and everyone except for my opponent will benefit from that. just keep supporting us all, were gonna blow it up sooner than later i know it. and jeff, damn im ready to see you and craig. im sure youll bring it just as hard. stay healthy. see yall soon. its cool Drew, he didnt mean it. haha.
Ike, come on bro meet me? Keep drinking milk (not the chocolate or strawberry either and no dipping cookies). You never responded way back when about your opponents and their records, wasn’t like 5 of them winless? Good Luck Kenny, you too Jeff.
I’ll say it again, and this is not aimed at any one person:
We absolutely LOVE the discussions about the FIGHTS/FIGHTERS/CARDS/EVENTS/etc…that’s what this site is for and we don’t want that to stop. We want you to speak your minds. We know you guys are going to disagree and have heated debates (and the more the merrier to be honest). Just please keep it respectful when you are on the main site. We don’t want this site turning into a bunch of trash talking call out comments that go in a circle and provide no real benefit or value to anyone.
I’m not saying we all need to hold hands and sing Kumbaya, but we just want to see some good ‘ol fashioned conversation and debate ABOUT THE SPORT.
If you must trash talk, we do have a forum that would probably be the more appropriate place to talk trash to one another and make personal attacks (I won’t say anything goes, but the tolerance level is much higher). It’s free to join and only takes a second to sign up. In fact, if you haven’t please do, we’d love to see the membership and activity grow over there too.
SO debate, disagree, tell each other what’s on your minds, but keep it civil, that’s all we ask. If you want to trash talk an individual, do it in the forums.
(I probably spelled a lot of words wrong and used some questionable grammar just now, and if you don’t like it then meet me in the forums
)
Thanks for understand guys, now, let the debates and disagreements continue!
They all ko’d, don’t worry bro, I promise a knockout on the 31st, shit I’m gonna ko my next victim at shark fights 10. So see you lil buddy.
I appreciate people making the interwebz entertaining. Texas and Houston especially has an extensive ammy circuit compared to other areas. Legacy has made a commitment to developing and promoting local talent. As the promotion grows so will the fighters. Nothing on the card jumps out to me as completely one sided, it will be a night of great fights. Fans better not sit around on the fence for this one, this card will sell out.
Also, I wouldn’t want to make my debut against anyone other than Jeff. I’m sure we will make the second go around better than the first.
The goal of Legacy is to develop our local Texas talent on a grassroots level from the amateurs and then to a good Pro show. I feel we pay our pros well and I am proud of that. The other option would be to pay everyone as much as they want and we could bounce checks and be out of business after a few shows like 99 percent of MMA promoters throughout the world. Instead on this particular card I have 14 fighters out of 26 that have fought for us as an amateur or debut on one of our original pro Lone Star Beatdowns. All of the 0-0 fighters are a result of wanting to provide our amateurs with a pro venue once they take that next step. We have a great mixture of excellent up and coming fighters with seasoned vets
Legacy – pony up and pay your fighters…now that is some funny shit. Legacy pays their fighters far more than any other professional organization that I’ve ever been a part of (that is a proved fact). And from a production standpoint, Legacy blows other local and national shows out of the water (one person’s opinion).
Not even sure why I responded to all of that garbage, just found that one statement hilarious.
i think that everyone wants to see the rexroad/gardener rematch including rex and craig. what a battle that was.
and moore vs melancon could be the “other lightweight title”.
barry, sorry man i won’t play. im not trying to stink the place up. thought a little heat would be good but ill keep it in the forums.
There is literally not a single “scrub” on this card. Every one of these guys are excellent and in my opinion could go to the next level if they wanted it bad enough. We match up fairly and hopefully as these guys go to the next level we can also go to the next level. We want to be the leading promotion in the South and help make Texas the mecca of fighting. This entire fight card is excellent. If you want to debate some more feel free to call me at 7137025043. I am always open to suggestions on how to be better. Also do some research on current or past champions that lost their first fight or two. By the way “truth” thank you for being here. You are good for business.
Mick keeping it classy…Nice….Legacy is one of the best pro shows in Texas . Great start to a new pro series. Can’t imagine what it will be like a year from now.
…and yes, I think “The Truth” is good for the site and his heart is in the right place.
Now, back on topic.
I’ve tried to pick fight of the night in my mind, but I can’t really decide. To me it’s between:
Moore/Melancon
Bronzoulis/Harris
Rexroad/Gardner
and
Young/Villanueva
Rivas for sub of the night
I’m not even going to begin to guess on KO of the night, because I count no less than 11 different guys who could get it.
I stated my possible picks above for FOTN, but the highest percentage for fight of the night hands down goes to Rexroad/Gardner. I am not sure how many saw the first fight, but it was as good as it gets.
Don’t be suprised if Zoolander pulls KO of the night. lol He can be sneaky!
Just a heads up, “the truth” is already registered by someone other than me so tell Ike to get in shape while I register another name on the Forum..I am just hoping he can last more than two posts without tanking…
Great Job on the card Mick no matter what anyone says. This will be an exciting night of fights. I am looking forward to Chico v Ike, Bellomy v Barringer and Garcia v Stewart. Majority of the guys on the card come to bang and finish fights..Will be rowdy night..
I see FOTN going to either Bellomy vs Barringer or Rexroad v Gardner. And Mick good job on keeping it classy.
Truth, I have met several of these guys you are talking to, trash talking to. My point is, I know they are real. Ive seen them train, fight, win and lose. Who are you? Do you train? Which school? You say you are registered under a few names. Dude, you have made a few good points, but some of the shit talking, I wonder, would you have said the same things if your identity was up, if we knew who you was? Being as honest as can be and completly unbias, it kinda makes you look like a coward. So what do you say. Can you put on your big girl panties and be a big enough and let these fine folks know who you are?
I seen Ike fight at the URC in Conroe. Yall know the one I’m talking about, where they had a sell out crowd of about 350 people. Yeah, that one. And if I were The Truth, I would not reveal myself. I mean, I aint no bitch or nothing, But I aint a fighter either. I don’t think The Truth will reveal himself. Is there a way to start up a poll and put on there, “Will The Truth reveal himself in the next three days?” and put a yes and no button. I wonder how many people would actually vote.
I was hopeing to so this MACACCO fight on this card??
O well.
