TheCageDoor.net has learned that WEC and Dream vet Todd “The Maniac” Moore will finally be fighting in Houston.  The ink is barely dry on the deal, but sources tell TCD.net that Moore will be facing Brian Melancon out of Metro Fight Club.

Mick Maynard, President of Legacy confirmed the deal and had this to say about the fight, “I just feel very honored that both of these exceptional fighters are choosing to fight for Legacy.  Todd is a former WEC and Dream vet and is currently signed with Shine.  We almost have the entire July fight card complete and from top to bottom, it will have some of Texas’s best fighters on it. ”

Moore, 12-3-0 as a pro, has rattled off two 3 round victories since suffering perhaps the toughest loss of his career to Shinya Aoki at Dream 6.  Regarded as one of the best 155’ers in Houston, Moore is not ranked in our TCD.net fighter rankings only because he has not fought in Houston before.

Moore has seen several potential opponents come and go and has recently signed a 3 fight deal with Shine.  “I purposely took time off to focus on technique and enjoy coaching.  Now is the time though and I’m ready to get in there and mix it up”. The Maniac, living up to his name, jokingly added, “I’m training hard, drinking my own pee and doing some hardcore Tae Bo.  I balance that with a high carb ranch dip diet.”

Shine, known for working well with their fighters, has agreed to let Moore take this fight against Melancon.  “We have a good working relationship with Shine which is how were able to get Todd on loan for this fight.  Hopefully this is will be the first of many fighter exchanges with Shine.”, Maynard said.

“I want to compete against the best and I am excited about this fight.  I feel the winner of this fight will be the best 155er in Houston”, Melancon said of the fight.  Brian is a hot prospect out of Saul Soliz’s Metro Fight Club.  Many regard him as perhaps Soliz’s next big named fighter.  He is currently ranked the #3 Lightweight in Houston and his stock continues to rise. “Brian is a name you will be seeing in the big show soon and is another Saul Soliz talent.” Maynard said of Melancon.

As always, TheCageDoor.net will bring you the complete fight card as soon as it is released, until then you can visit LegacyFights.tv for more information.
