On any given night In Houston there are 12,000 to 14,000 homeless people sleeping on the streets of the city we often say we represent and love. The people of Houston are the city. Whether its a doctor, lawyer, fighter, or the homeless guy holding a sign at the corner of Texas Ave and Kirby, a lot of these people are where they are because they have given up on hope and themselves.
A little help goes a long way.
As our homeless get ready for another cold winter on the streets, most will not have adequate means of staying warm. The end result? People will get sick and lives will be lost. Approximately 1,800 children are homeless and do not have a choice were they sleep. Odds are that you know or have known someone that is on the street. Someone you went to school with, a former sweetheart, a distant relative.
Please join DFC, Franchize FightGear and the Houston MMA community as we gather blankets for a good cause. Many local gyms in the area have joined together for this tremendous act of giving and are collecting blankets. Blankets will be collected by a group of volunteers until November 26th. Then on November 27th, around noon the blankets will be handed out to Houston’s homeless.
If you can help in anyway, no volunteer will be turned down. Please join us in supporting the city that supports us.
