The rumor was that Jorge “Macaco” Patino planned on dropping to 155. We also reported that he could be facing “The Spaniard” Jesus Rivera at the next Legacy show in May. All of that has been confirmed by the folks at Legacy. In all likelihood, this will be a fight for the recently vacated 155lb Legacy Title.
Last week we also reported that Roberty Drysdale signed a multi-fight deal with Legacy. We know now who he will be fighting. Drysdale’s first Legacy opponent is “Hurrican” Ike Villanueva.
Drysdale, a world-class BJJ black belt, is 3-0-0 in MMA. His last fight was against Mike Nickels back in June 2011. No surprise that Drysdale has won all three of his fights via submission. No doubt Drysdale will be looking to get this fight to the ground quickly, where he will have the advantage.
Villanueva (7-6-0) is on a two fight losing streak, having lost to Larry Crowe at LFC 8 and Justin Ledet at IMKF 2. Villanueva is known for his stand-up, so he’ll be trying to finish Drysdale with punches before this one has a chance to get to the ground.
The LFC 11 card now looks like this:
- 205 – Robery Drysdale vs Ike Villanueva
- 125 – Chad Robichaux vs Joseph Sandoval
- 155 – Jorge Patino vs Jesus Rivera (TITLE FIGHT)
