Chron.com has made some changes to its online MMA blog “Brawl Sport”.  Effective Monday Dec. 14, Jeremy Botter has taken over the blog, replacing Jonathan Randolph as the writer.  The addition of Botter brings more cache to the blog, as Botter is usually cage side at all of the nationally prominent MMA events (including the UFC, WEC and Strikforce shows).  Along with his new duties for Chron.com, Jeremy is also the lead staff writer for Heavy.com and provides live show coverage for FoxSports.com.  He brings a tremendous amount of knowledge of the national scene to the blog, as well as a bevy of contacts and MMA resources to pull from.

“I’ve talked to the folks and The Houston Chronicle in the past about writing for Brawl Sports, but it never seemed to work out until now.  My bosses at Heavy.com are good with it to, so that helped.”

Brawl Sports had seen a decline in activity and readership since the departure of Jared Barnes and Steve Sievert (now with mmajunkie.com).  Botter hopes to bring the blog back to the forefront of the minds of MMA fans in Houston. “Everybody knows about Brawl Sports.  At one time, it had a huge audience and I’d like to get that audience back.  I’m just going to do the best I can to provide the best coverage possible.”

Jeremy’s first official post as the new writer was posted on Monday.

When Jeremy isn’t covering MMA, he’s performing with his highly acclaimed Houston based band, The Favorites.
