We recently previewed the Legacy FC 7 card coming up in July, and there is tons of excitement surrounding it. Unfortunately, as with most cards, fights change sometimes. Fortunately, Mick and Collin at Legacy have worked quickly to find replacements for a couple of guys that have fallen out.
First off, the main event has a change. Efrain Escudero has backed out of the fight against Carlo Prater. While no contracts have been signed, all parties have agreed and it looks like TUF Season 9 alum Cameron Dollar will replace Escudero against Prater. Dollar was on Dan Henderson’s team on the UK vs. USA season, and won two fights before losing in the semifinals to Andre Winner.
Gerardo Abadie had to withdraw from his matchup with Justin Reiswerg due to injury. He is being replaced by Marc Ramirez of Urban Jungle. Ramirez and Reiswerg have a common opponent in Adam Schindler. Reiswerg was submitted by Schindler in 2008 and Ramirez took him the distance but dropped a decision in December for the IXFA title. Ramirez currently sports a 3-1 record. Again, no contract has been signed, but all parties have agreed to the fight.
Lastly, the fight between Jonathon Harris and Pat Bierschwale has been removed from the card due to Harris’ new association with a Gracie Barra gym. With both fighters representing GB, the fight won’t take place. There will be no replacement fight, nor will substitute opponents be looked for. So as of now, both guys are off the card.
Legacy 7 will take place July 22nd and will be broadcast on HD Net. Stay tuned to thecagedoor.net for all the news regarding the show.
