Bad news for fighters and fans of Puro Combate 3.  In a card surrounded by last minute changes and controversy, the final chapter was written tonight as the show was canceled.  State officials waited for an hour and a half before they said they would be leaving (at 8:30pm).  Shortly before 8:30 pm, James Gratz  entered the cage, got on the microphone and informed the crowd that the show would be canceled and rescheduled for a later date.

Gratz told the crowd that paid at the door they would get a refund on the way out. He told fans who purchased their tickets online that he would personally process their refund later in the evening. He added that any tickets purchased from fighters would also be refunded.

It is still unclear at this time as to the official reason why the show was cancelled. One state official told me they had contract issues, while another said it was simply a matter of not being able to find the promoters to start the show.

[update] According to several reports, including comments from fighters here on the site, the fighters were not paid their show fees.
