Paul Kelly, who was slated to fight Jeff Rexroad at Legacy FC 9 on December 16th, has been taken off the card due to issues with his visa. Replacing Kelly on the card is TUF season 8 champion Efrain Escudero. Escudero became the first winner of the show to be cut from the UFC roster after going 3-2 with the organization. He missed weight by 4 pounds in his last fight with the UFC, a loss to Houston’s Charles Oliveira. Since leaving the UFC, Escudero has gone 5-1, upping his career mark to 18-3. His most recent win was a 1:55 guillotine submission of Cesar Avila at Bellator 55.
Rexroad, who is 4-1, is a welterweight. We are assuming at this point that the fight will be at 170 lbs., and not Escudero’s accustomed 155.
Here is the updated card for Legacy FC 9:
- 170 (C)Jorge Patino (20-13-1) vs Mike Bronzoulis (13-3-1)
- 145 Gilbert Jiminez (5-3-1) Vs (C)Daniel Pineda (14-7-0)
- 168 Jeff Rexroad (4-1-0) vs Efrain Escudero (18-3-0)
- 170 Jonathan Harris (5-1-0) vs Antonio Flores (5-3-0)
- 135 Cody Williams (2-0-0) vs Steve Garcia (8-5-0)
- 185 Patrick Hutton (3-2-0) vs Noel Ligon (2-0-0)
- 170 Jeremy Morris (1-1-0) vs Justin Murray (3-1-0)
- 170 Frost Murphy (2-0-0) vs Cris Rucker (0-0-0)
- 155 Randy Hauer (7-12-0) vs Jesus Rivera (6-2-0)
- HVY Rakim Cleveland (2-1-0) vs Derrick Lewis (2-0-0)
