Despite swirling rumors that Pete Spratt would be unavailable to fight Jorge “Macaco” Patino at Legacy FC 8, TheCageDoor.net has learned that Spratt will now indeed take the title shot he earned in defeating Antonio Flores on Friday night. Spratt had reported via Twitter that he had previous engagements, and the proposed replacement bout would have pit Macaco against TUF alum Seth Bacynzki. Spratt has since agreed in principal to take the fight, as has Macaco, and it will likely be one of the feature fights at Legacy 8.
“I am looking forward to fighting for Legacy,” Macaco said. “It doesn’t matter to me who my opponent is. I look forward to holding their title belt for a long time.”
In related news, instead of the reported matchup between Ike Villanueva and Derek Lewis at 205 lbs., Ike will be dropping down to 185 lbs. and taking on Larry Crowe. Crowe defeated Jermain Anugwom in under a minute at Legacy 7.
