The July 29th Legacy card has seen several changes as of late. Some great fights have been added to the originally announced card, but some great fights have also fallen off. Unfortunately, another fight that won’t be happening on that card is the much anticipated match-up between Angel Huerta and Steve Garcia.
TheCageDoor.net learned Wednesday that Huerta had to pull out of the fight, a fight that was to be for the recently vacated bantamweight title. Garcia hasn’t fought in Houston since his dominant performance over Warren Stewart, and Huerta is as hot as they come winning his first 4 pro fights.
One possible replacement could be Nate “Nate Dogg” Garza. Both fighters have exchanged words here on TheCageDoor.net in the past. Garza said he would like a shot at Garcia, to which Garcia gladly accepted, adding (and I’m paraphrasing here), “it could be in the streets or the cage.”
The rumor floating around right now is that we could see Jorge “Macaco” Patino end up on the card now, in a replacement bout (but it should be pointed out that nothing official has been passed down from Legacy). One possible rumored opponent for Macaco could be Pat “The Bison” Bierschwale. If you recall, Bierschwale was originally supposed to face Jonathan “The Hulk” Harris on the card, but the fight was scrapped because both fighters have Gracie Barra ties.
