Jimmy Flick has been literally begging for this fight since his last win at IXFA:Winnie. Now he has it. The unbeaten flyweight out of Corpus Christi will face Chad Robichaux at Legacy FC 8 in September. Robichaux is sticking to his previous statement that he will not fight any more Houston fighters. The fight will be a non-title fight at 125 lbs. Robichaux is currently riding a two fight losing streak. He was stopped by Zach Makovsky in his Bellator debut and was submitted in a stunning upset less than a minute in to his match with Jonathan Mackles at last week’s Legacy FC 7.
Also added to the card since we last checked in is a 135 lb. matchup between Cody Williams and Nate Garza. Williams was impressive in his debut against Gerzan Chaw at the same IXFA show that Flick headlined. Garza most recently lost a unanimous decision to Angel Huerta at Legacy FC 6.
A 145 lb. match has also been added between 4 Oz. fighter Steve Garcia and Dallas native and newly crowned XKO champion Steven Peterson.
This card is already stacking up nicely and from the looks of it Maynard is trying to top the show he put on at Legacy FC 7. The updated card is outlined below.

gotta say im not excited about this fight. to me, robo is overrated in mma (top notch in bjj) and jimmy flick is a boring fighter. seems like all he wants to do is lay and pray. just my 2 cents.
Ok for one, JImmy Flick is NOT a boring fighter. Apparently u havent watched him enough. So maybe do some researched before u step to conslusion. My brother worked his butt off for this. And YOU WILL be seeing him in ufc. Im so proud of him!
no i’ve seen him plenty of times and in my opinion he is a boring fighter. he wins but not in exciting fashion and yes he can make it to the ufc. look at jake shields. he’s another lay and prayer. just my opinion, no need to get your panties in a bunch

Robo will never make 125. The closest he got was in the Deleon fight at 131. He said he will take over the UFC’s 125lb division? He hasnt ever fought at that weight. Hes 35 yrs old and to get to that weight will take alot out of him. On another note, its obvious hes dodging Campuzano. Will has been calling him out for a long time. Flick will dismantle this wannabe. Robos records a joke and he has been exposed on national tv lately. Hes not even in the top 5 in the 135lb division in Texas. His standup is humorous to say the least and I cant believe that the fans in Houston dont see this. The MMA community is laughing at him.
Jimmy does lay but doesn’t pray if you haven’t notice some of the kids sick elbows .his fight with jeremy christiansen as ammy was great show of his stand up opening the fight a flying knee to the head of his opponent and showing some quick hands with a couple great hooks. This fight with rob is exciting for any true mma fan. A young promising talented fighter taking on the older but wizer vetran. Can’t wait to see this one legacy great matchup
Wow,some people don’t like Robo, and some think Jimmy is boring,lol.My 2 cents is that this will be a great fight,Robo has a big following and is a power in the light divisions and my boy Jimmy is a rising star with tons of heart who has beaten some of the best around.Whats not to like about that fight.I see Jimmy with the W,but against Robo,he’ll work for it.Good luck Jimmy,do your thing.

robo is a warrior and flick is tuff as hell. robo doesnt have to do this he is 35 years old and a great bjj instructer with lots of students. you got to respect that guy. does this because he loves it. and has been fighting tuff opponents so stfu

When your first 9 wins are against opponents with a combined record of 5-22, thats not tough opponents as a pro. Just saying that the Deleon fight (which was suppoosed to be at 125) was a split decision, Mackles was a tough 125er and I agree Robo may have just got caught. Mackovsky is a beast and one of the best in the world. Flick has 3 pro fights, Robo has 13. Fighting tough opponents huh? Maybe the last 4 fights, but the record is padded. What happens if Flick beats him easily?
