According to sources close to Legacy, Artenas “Chico” Young has been pulled from his fight with UFC veteran Gerald Harris. While it is unclear at the time the reason for Young being removed from the February 24th card, he has been nursing a shoulder injury in recent weeks.
Replacing him on the card will be the fast rising DJ Linderman. Linderman boasts a 10-2 mark, including two appearances in Bellator.
With the replacement, the current Legacy FC 10 card is as follows:

- Ray Blodgett vs. Rey Trujillo
- Jason Carter vs. Cody Phillips
- Shawn Machado vs. Lee King
- Angel Huerta vs. Michael Sierra
- Bubba Bush vs. Patrick Hutton
- Rashon Lewis vs. Alex Morono
- Jonathan Harris vs. Chidi Njokuani
- Carson Beebe vs. Tim Snyder
- Gerald Harris vs. DJ Linderman
- Pat Audinwood vs. Justin Reiswerg
- Mike Bronzoulis vs. Eric Davila
We’ve got someone with the power and credentials like Harris, and we aren’t putting up a Houston middle weight to replace Young?
I know Bubba has a fight already but Bubba Bush vs Gerald Harris would be a interesting fight. Bubba is tough as hell, it would be a great opportunity for him and IMO he deserves it.
I doubt Harris wants to take a fight with someone that doesn’t have any recognition or a low number of fights. I can’t blame the guy either. MGY has a decent number of fights and is well known. If I managed Gerald Harris, I wouldn’t let him fight Bubba Bush or anyone else just local. We are lucky to have him fight here because the guy should be in the UFC and is a badass.
Too me, that is what made Legacy something to go see. The potential to pair up Houston against fighters from around the country. Otherwise this becomes Gerald Harris, (who is great but not a terribly big name,) versus a guy who could be considered there to feed him.
dont think bubba has the experiance or name yet to fight harris, bubbas time will come but i dont think it will happen now. MG is about the only middle weight here locally i can think deserving, especially since andrew got the call. its awesome to see houston boys winning these big fights, we have to keep it up.

Yeah no doubt MG deserves this fight but the fact is that he is not in the card and I would like to see a guy from this town get a shot at a big name. I know Gerald might not want to take the fight because Bubba does not have a big record but he gave Andrew a hell of a fight only 2 fights ago, and now he’s on his way to the UFC. I know it probably won’t happen I’m just saying it would be nice for a guy from here to get a shot and the one that comes to mind at middleweight is Bubba.
I would LOVE nothing more than to have a local guy fight Gerald Harris. I offered the fight to two local guys and they declined for good reasons (injury, inexperience). If you have any suggestions that I may not have thought of I am always open to ideas. I could easily have dropped the fight altogether because we are at 12 bouts but as an MMA fan I still want to see the best in the world fight for Legacy and Gerald Harris is definitely ranked among those. DJ is 10-2 by the way so he is definitely not a can.
This is a rare opportunity to get someone who is 3-1 in the UFC to fight in Houston against a very tough opponent. DJ is said to be on the path to the UFC also which says a lot about the caliber of this matchup.
Yeah, when I heard the injured one had been offered. I nearly cried, that would have been a fun fight.
Hey guys..Chico had to pull out, bcuz of his shoulder …it keep popping out …he could not even do a push up………and as everyone know Chico he still wanted to fight, but luckily everyone talked him out of it……one take down …that would of been it…that would not look good for Chico r legacy …it sucks bcuz I think he was the next one in line to go somewhere..better to b safe they sorry….next time brother…but I think rexroad at 185..might surprise Some people with his ground game………

Mick, keep it up bro. You can’t get a higher caliber fighter here than Gerald Harris. Dude is legitimate and got kicked out of the UFC for a dumb reason. Glad Legacy could get this guy to Houston. You have set the bar very high my friend….and I don’t think you can get better than Gerald Harris.

Gerald vs DJ is A-Level matchmaking. DJ is a tuff tuff dude who hits HARD, and Gerald went 3-1 in the UFC…. enough said. I love to see up-coming Houston guys getting the matches also, but you made Legacy a world class event… in doing so you won’t be capable of having a Houston guy on every bout. I’m proud of you guys when I see match-ups like this on a show I saw you bust your butt on to build from the ground up. You are not only on HD Net but are clearly becoming a UFC feeder, no doubt Sean Shelby is watching Legacy Bouts at work on Monday mornings, screening for talent. You made it bro, you’re doing what the thousands of wanna be promoter dreams of.

Wont be long before instead of Legacy on HDNet were seeing Legacy on CBS or ABC. These cards just keep getting better and better every time with more and more big names wanting to fight for Legacy. Happy to see my boy Mick and the Legacy crew doing big things. They definitely deserve every bit of praise they get.
