MMA Junkie is reporting that Houston area fighter Carlo Prater has been signed by the UFC. According to the article, Prater will be fighting Eric Silva at UFC 142 in his native country of Brasil.
Prater (29-10-1) has been on a roll as of late winning in both Strikeforce and Legacy, and four in a roll over all. His last win was back in September at Capital Fight 4.
According to MMA Junkie, “Silva carries a nine-fight win streak into the bout. The Brazilian slugger made his octagon debut at UFC 134, which also took place in Rio de Janiero, where he scored a 40-second stoppage of Luis Ramos. Silva appeared to be in line for the night’s “Knockout of the Night” bonus before his teammate Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira stopped Brendan Schaub later that evening.”
Carlo has been a solid fighter for many years in the are, so it was onlya matter of time before he got a shot once again on the big stage…or in this case the biggest stage.
