Veterans Day-Avenue of Flags
« on: September 14, 2011, 03:51:49 PM »
Hi guys,

I made a post on the other topic but figured I'll ask again and *hope* that I can get some sort of feedback or response.

Veterans Day  is Nov. 11 (Friday). The Houston National Cemetery does something called the "Avenue of Flags", which, is placing large flags along the roadway in the cemetery.

The flag placement would start at 3:00pm and take about an hour and half. The organizer couldn't give me an exact day, but it would most likely be a weekday (as Veterans Day is Friday).

Would anyone be interested or able to participate? Form a group?

Consider this a possible November charity event.  If you're interested, please let me know (here) or email: kamuix1999@hotmail.com

Thank you~~

Well, you KNOW I'm in!

I know that Jeremy from 4oz is also in. I will put this on our Facebook and see what kind of response we get!

I'm REALLY glad we are doing this.

Sounds awesome, Jeremy.

I'll need to get a headcount to let the Admin person I am emailing with as she is asking how large our group will be. So, thus far (from FB responses as well) we have 11 people. And you said a couple more from your team.. so perhaps 3 or 4 more people?

Update for the Avenue of Flags event:

When:  Wednesday November 9th
            Arrive by 3:00pm

Where: Houston National Cemetery
            10410 Veterans Memorial Drive
            Houston, TX 77038-1502

There will also be high school students who will be participating at this event. It should take about an hour, depending on the number of flags they decide to put up and, the number of helping hands.

If you are able to make it, please let me know and I can give the organizer an update of the number of people who'll be participating. Thank you!
