TheCageDoor.net TV Show
« on: June 17, 2010, 01:55:36 PM »
So, Rich and I are planning on doing a monthly Internet based show to discuss the local scene.

What we want to know is what would YOU like to see included in the show?

Our thought on the show so far would be to have Rich and I along with a rotating guest (or 2) each show.

Topics of discussion on the show would inlcuded stuff like:

past events and fights (like the controversial black/may or phillips/morono fights)
upcoming fights/events
interviews
news
round table discussion

So lets have it, what would make you interested and keep you watching (besides naked chics...Rich has a no nudity clause; sorry guys  :ghey)

Thanks for the feedback in advance (as well as your "You should have ME as a guest because I'm all kinds of awesome" comments)

I think a lot of people (fans of MMA) would like to see some of the "behind the scenes" things that go on for big fights...fighters getting taped up, rules meeting, warming up, and get a good feeling of what goes through a fighter's mind from that point of view. Everything leading up to their music playing and the walk to the cage.

Really like the roundtable discussion idea too, especially discussing controversal topics, rules, and more.

And since I'm the first reply, I assume that means I will be the first guest considering my awesomness...???

As long as Randy Hauer is on there, I'm down.

By sponsors I presume you mean the people who actually pay money to promote their products on our site?

Yeah, we can do that for sure!

I say some training leading up to the fights. That would be pretty cool. I love the round table discussion idea. That's cool too. And You should have ME as a guest because I'm all kinds of awesome.

How would you want to see the training, as a video montage mixed with an interview? Kind of like we do on the site, but as part of the show?

Round table sounds like a hit.

I just ran your user ID through the by the awesome meter.  It's not looking good, but then again, I've been meaning to have it serviced every since that freak accident Rich had with it.  It involved two donkeys a midget and some Crisco...but it's a long and story and I don't want to relive it, so don't ask.

I'm thinking also maybe do a spotlight on a local MMA gym just do like a spot highlighting the gyms best qualities some of the fighters and talk with the trainers you know something like that. FIRST ONE SHOULD BE "4oz FIGHT CLUB"

I like the idea of a behind the scenes video of leading up to the fight. Fighter and gym of the month have also been discussed. Great ideas guys keep them coming.

Here is an idea that I did for USA MMA a while back that everyone seemed to love.  Pick a fighter that is going to be in a big show that coming week.  Plan on spending time with the fighter as much as possible the week of the fight leading up to it...at the gym, hanging out, at their job (if allowed), cutting weight, and as they prepare for the fight.  Follow that fighter as he get's taped, warms up, walks out, then after the fight.  On their TV show, that was always a big hit with fans, actually seeing the "everyday" life of a fighter and how they juggle everything the week of the fight.  It's also great for local fighters because I know the guys that I did that for a while back became crowd favorites because the fans are able to "connect" with that person.

That B3 guy has some good ideas. I think fans would love to see the behind the scenes of a fight. We see it so often that I think we sometimes forget how electrifying the atmosphere is fight week.
