IMKF 2 took place at the Competitive Edge Sports Complex in Spring, and it provided an entertaining (albeit short) fight card. Unfortunately, a few fights fell off over the last few days, including one dropping moments before the fight during warm ups in the back. Agrimar dos Santos, also known as Cyborghino, reportedly tore his MCL warming up his kicks during his prefight routine in the locker room. The fights that did happen, however, were worth the price of admission for the crowd. A recap and photos are below.

Ledet Scores Late Submission Over New Look Villanueva

Justin Ledet did not get the kind of fight he had hoped for with Ike Villanueva, but he was able to walk away with the W nonetheless. Villanueva was much more interested in showing off his new wrestling and jiu-jitsu prowess than having a boxing match with Ledet. After a close first round that saw takedowns from Villanueva and good knees from the clinch for Ledet, Villanueva was able to control Ledet on the ground in the second round. The third round opened much like the second with an instant takedown from Ike, but Villanueva left his arm out during ground and pound, and Ledet grabbed an armbar. Ike fought it but was forced to tap, securing the Made To Win Submission of the Night award for Ledet, and continuing his undefeated run.

Ligon Impresses In Stoppage Win Over Mohamed

In a wild round of striking, it was Noel Ligon who walked out the winner with a vicious stoppage over Sam Mohamed. The round was really even until about the 4:00 mark, when Ligon really started to unload. He knocked Mohamed’s mouthpiece out and attacked with kicks, knees to the body and head, elbows from the clinch and punches. The ref jumped in to save Mohamed with less than :20 seconds left in the round. The win pushed Ligon to 4-0.
