CDM had their debut MMA show last night at Legend’s Sports Complex. Despite only having 7 fights on the final card, there was plenty of action.
In the night’s main event, Andrew Musquiz defeated Nelson Rodriguez via TKO in the third round. Musquiz dominated the first round, and late in the round the ref could have been justified stopping the fight as he punished Rodriguez with ground and pound.
The second belonged to Rodriguez, who got a takedown and controlled Musquiz from bell to bell in the round. The third round again started with a Rodriguez takedown. Musquiz worked his way up and started to unload on a visibly tired Rodriguez. With :52 in the fight, Musquiz landed a 1-2 flush on Rodriguez. The ref jumped between them and stopped it.
The win went to Musquiz, and judging by how the momentum had swung in the last round that may have been where it was headed anyhow, but I think the referee misjudged the time for a stoppage. The fight was action packed though, and earned our Made To Win Fight of the Night award.
The rest of the results from the night are below. We look forward to the next showing from CDM.
