Rd1:
Tonight marks the professional debut of Kingwood MMA’s John Malbrough, a tough fighter with a stellar amateur record and the Lonestar Beatdown 185 belt o his credit. His opponent Marc Garcia took this fight on literally less than 24-hours! Should be a very interesting first fight of the night folks.
We are moments away from action as the first two fighters enter the cage. Malbrough looks like a much bigger fighter than Garcia walking in. These guys look amped and ready to get it on.
Here we go and the fighter meet at center cage. There guys are trading kick to body to start. John with a huge knee and now we’re on the ground with John solidly in top of side control. Mounted now, John in high mount and raining down punches. Garcia covering up and hold on but not hipping out. Doing a decent job of covering and now Garcia scrambling up. Up against the cage, John has a hold of a leg as Garcia hits elbows down to the ribcage of Malbbrouhg. Reversal now and John back on top in half guard. John peppering down some rabbit punches and working for mount.John gets the back now and tries to flatten him out with both hooks in. RNC attempt now by John, who is on bottom with both hooks in. He is back in mount as round one ends. Good first round.
Rd2:
Both fighters look good i between rounds. Nobody gassed yet.
Round 2 begins with a leg kick attempt by Garcia. Malbrough loves these leg kicks. Garcia catches one and takes Malbrough down against the cage. In full mount now, Garcia looking to regain his posture as Malbrough works his closed guard. John working the heel kicks into the kidneys ala Royce Gracie in UFC 1 and referree Randy Hauer stands them up. Guys trading some punch combos now and Garcia is tagged by a left hook. Punch combo finished by a knee by Malbrough and Garcia is now on the ground with John on his side. Failed reversal by Garcia but he’s still defending well as the round ends.
Rd3:
Garcia coming hard at Malbrough to start the third. Down on the ground again with Malbrough staying busy from top of half guard. Garcia reverses and Malbrough again working to set up from the top of half guard. John now in Garcia’s full guard and referee stands them up. John with some VICIOUS knees and looking to finish but Garcia is not giving up or giving in. John stalking right now and Garcia looks the fresher man. Spinning backfist attempt by Garcia and he takes Malbrough down and is on top of mount as the fight ends. I’ve got it at 30-27 Malbrough but let’s see what the judges think about that third round.
Winner:
John Malbrough over Marc Garcia by unanimous decision, 30-27 in fight 1 of the night.

Before fight 2, BIG shoutout to my friend Ricardo Talavera, a 170 fighter out of Houston that recently moved out to Pittsburgh. We hear rumors that Ricardo wants to come back to Houston and fight soon!
Rd1:
Fight 2 set to start and we have the big boys in the cage! Drew Ratichek making his pro debut and cutting down from heavyweight. The former Lonestar Beatdown heavyweight champ takes on Terrance Ferguson, a tough fighter out of Westside MMA in his first pro bout.
Drew looks like he’s in the best shape I’ve ever seen him in so we’ll how that translates in this bout.
Glove tap to start and Drew working his jab. Terrance answers with a leg kick and they are measuring each other carefully. Ferguson catches Drew’s leg and now has a gip around his waist as he’s looking to take him down from the back. Drew working for a kimura grip and Terrance kneeing Drew’s thigh. Drew with the kimura attempt and doesn’t get it but is not letting go of the grip. Ferguson with the knees and the ref breaks them up, stalemate. Drew with the 1-2, doesn’t land. Both fighters seem tentative to engage and are pawing at each other with leg kicks and jabs as the first round ends. Very close to call.
Rd2:
Terrance working the leg kicks to start round 2 but Drew answers. T with a momentary burst but Drew recovers well and circles out. Drew looks to be getting looser and throwing some combos now. Terrance very measured and trying pick his spots. Drew looks like he’s racking up some points by striking well from the outside and utilizing his superior reach. Good left hook by Terrance but Drew disengages. Deep low single grip by Terrance and he takes down Raticheck straight into side control to end round 2.
Rd3:
Drew coming forward to start round 3. Terrance circling away from the cage and Drew very aggressive with punch combos. Drew looks like he’s picking up the pace and now Drew with a low single. Terrance spins out and takes Drew’s back. VERY deep RNC attempt but Terrance doesn’t have the hooks. Drew passing to the correct side to alleviate the pressure on his neck. Drew in half guard now as Terrance tries to escape and now Raticheck has Ferguson’s back! He’s got both hooks in as Ferguson looking to protect his neck! Drew has his legs figure-foured now and the round ends. Extremely close fight and I don’t know how the judges are gonna call this one.
Winner:
In a close fight, all three judges see the fight 29-28 in favor of Terrance Ferguson.
Post-fight – Drew dedicating the fight to his young friend Peter, who is in the cage with him. Peter has cancer and just finished chemo therapy. Terrance and Drew both taking pictures with the young boy. Very class dedication by Drew Raticheck to the Peter’s Fight charity. THIS is what the Houston MMA Community is all about.

Rd1:
Now up, a potential fight of the night candidate as the “Afro Samurai” Akira Smith takes on the ever-explosive Angel Huerta. Crowd is poppin’ for this one as the combatants enter the cage! Don’t blink folks!
It’s deafening in the arena! This is the LOUDEST I have ever heard the Arena Theater!
Here we go and they quickly meet at center cage. Vicious straight right by Huerta and he’s coming in with side kicks. 1-2, high kick by Huerta and he’s really trying to overwhelm the Afro Samurai with aggressive striking. Akira coming back with kicks now but Huerta quickly returns. Angel throwing some haymakers but Akira Smith not hurt yet. Akira with the switch-knee now. Angel catches Akira coming in with a left hook and drops him! Trying to finihs but doesn’t get it. Akira back up and Angel Huerta is ALL OVER HIM and he gets him with a head kid that downs the Afro Samura. Some vicious punches en route to the ref stopping it via TKO. VICIOUS WIN by Angel Huerta.

Rd3:
Winner:

Rd1:
Leg kick by Alex causes a slip by Bellomy early in round 1. Greg with the quick takedown and posturing up to stay out of Black’s submission attacks. Greg standing in Alex’s guard now and going for some GNP as Alex attacks from the bottom. Greg postured up well and striking for closed guard. Standing to punch is Bellomy as Black looks to catch an arm in transition. Elbow from the top by Bellomy. Solid punches from the top by Bellomy but Alex catches a side choke from the bottom! It looks close but round 1 ends with Bellomy not out of breath as he pops out of the sub.
Rd2:
Alex with the strong Muay Thai flurry to start round 2. Knees, elbows, he’s attacking viciously as Bellomy covers up. Alex screaming as he throws every strike and the ref stops it! Bellomy looks very disappointed at the stoppage. It was a bit of a quick stoppage as Bellomy looked to be covering up well and defending but nonetheless, Alex Black wins his pro debut in spectacular fashion via TKO!
Rd3:
Winner:
Alex Black via TKO over Greg Bellomy in Round 2!

Rd1:
Barringer likes to get into wars based on past experience and Tim Snyder is one of the most explosive strikers in the area. This one is gonna be an old-fashioned slobberknocker IMO!
Both guys bouncing around during instructions. Bell rings and here we go. They touch gloves and Barringer is the first to throw with jab-cross combo. Tim stalking with his hands held hig and catches a combo of his own. Arron with the double-leg, stuffed by Snyder. In the clinch now, Arron driving Snyder to the fence. Snyder spins out and they trade position. Arron looking for the arm-in guillotine and pulls guard momentarily to sink it. Not quite all the way in yet. Arron pops his neck out and they trade position clinching against the cage. Arron listening to his corner and throwing short elbows. They finally separate. Measuring each other at center cage. Arron comes in with a punch combo. Tim loads up and counters with a left hook that knocks Arron Barringer out. Devastating KO by Tim Snyder!

Winner:
Tim Snyder over Arron Barringer via KO at 3:15 of round 1.

Rey Trujillo is the current Legacy FC Leightweight Champion
Justin Trapp from athleteportraits.com is going to take over and do play by play for this fight and give Mike some rest.
Rd1:
I think going from Trujillo to Blodgett will get confusing so I am going to go for Rey and Ray. These are free updates….Both fighters come out looking amped. Here we go!
Fight starts off with a fake takedown from trujillo and he swarms blodgett with looping hooks. Trujillo is getting some great shots in. They clinch, Blodgett gets the takedown. Blood is coming out of Blodgett’s nose. Trujillo scrambles up but Blodgett clinches him up. looping punches from trujillo again blodgett answers with knees. Ray takes down Trujillo again. Back to standing clinch. Another takedown and scramble ensues. Blodgett gets him in side control. Knee to stomach from Blodgett. Trujillo in Blodgett’s guard now. Trujillo giving him some good ground and pound. Great back and forth round they both look exhausted. Ray Blodgett is bloodied up.
Rd2:
Round begins with both fighters swinging and clinching up. Blodgett gets the single leg takedown. He is goes for a guillitene and he is out. Blodgett is now smothering him with constant takedowns. Blodgett now has his back and now full mount. Ray is throwing some bombs. Blodgett some rushing anything. Trujillo tries to escape mount but Ray stuffs it, back to punching. Arm triangle attempt from Blodgett it looks deep. Rey is out! Blodgett has his back and now Blodgett is going for the choke. Flattens him out and now back to full mount. blodgett goes for an armbar and Trujillo slips out they scramble and Blodgett is back in mount. Wow. Both guys look exhausted.
Rd3:
Here we go. Both guys look very very tired. They clinch and blodgett gets the takedown and he automatically goes for the mount. Ray is in mount but he has no strength for punches. blodgett goes for triangle…scramble and another takedown for Blodgett. He is dominating Rey with his superior grappling. Blodgett in North/South position. Scramble again from Trujillo and Blodgett has mount Again. Blodgett going for an arm triangle and Trujillo is defending well. Of the two fighters Ray Blodgett looks the most fatigued but that still is not stopping his takedowns or position advancement.
Rd4:
Trujillo opens up with multiple kicks and they clinch. Blodgett working for the takedown. Trujillo now goes for the takedown and gets it… Trujillo sprawling as Blodgett goes for the takedown…Blodgett continues to pressure him with takedowns. Trip from Trujillo and he has blodgett in side control. blodgett gets him in a triangle, its in deep. Trujillo struggles and he is out! Trujillo is now on top….They are now punching from their knees! Trujillo gets the takedown, blodgett goes for the sweep….What a fight!
Rd5:
Looks like a another triangle attempt from Blodgett and Trujillo defends. After many scrambles back and forth Ray Blodgett is now in side control. And now Blodgett goes for mount. He is raining down punches. He looks like he may have a second win. He is dropping elbows and after a brief scramble from Trujillo he is back in mount. More elbows and punches from the top. Blodgett is very bloodied but he is winning this round and possibly the fight. Two great shots from Blodgett to the chin. Now he has his back and he stretches out Trujillo. More punches. Thats it! I think we may have a new champ!
WINNER AND NEW CHAMPION RAY BLODGETT!

Harris looking to strike with elbows from the bottom.Harris rolls out and looking for a single. Misses as Bronzoulis works to his back. Mike Bronzoulis defeats Jonathan Harris via TKO AT 3:20 of round 1!

Recently i think more people have been offended by me picking for and against fighters….so heres more fuel for the fire.
P.S. picking against you doesnt’ mean i don’t like you…ive got friends picking against me in my next fight and we still bs just the same.
Brian Melancon vs Junior Assuncao
Probably everyone knows im going with Melancon via KO here. And so will Brian….hell go with himself via KO if i had to guess.
Rey Trujillo vs Ray Blodgett
Ray is a very well rounded fighter and has the skill set in certain areas to beat Rey….but i think that Tru will have too much ferocity, power heavy hands and cardio… i don’t think its easy to prepare for a fighter like Tru… Rey Trujillo via KO
Mike Bronzoulis vs Jonathon Harris
Jonathon can KO anyone i think… and believe that Mike B is by far the toughest guy hes ever faced…if this fight goes past the first brawl i give mike b via tko
Drew Ratichek vs Terrance Ferguson
Terrance ferguson via drew quitting early in the fight cause hes hungry
Greg Bellomy vs Alex Black
Greg is a beast…i like Alex a lot but Greg is one of the dark horses here in texas….. not many people know about his true skill set. Bellomy via what ever comes first…KO, Sub or tko…
Angel Huerta vs Akira Smith
Akira tko……and the craziest fight all night!!!
Derek Lewis vs miguel Guerra
Derrick lewis via smash and cardio theft….like usual. The Beast Rides again.
Edgar Verdin vs Jonathon Mack
i have seen mack take some serious shots… and he can give them too….verdin is very heavy handed though and has developed slick counter striking and hes accurate…hes bigger with more reach and i expect him to know how to use it…..Verdin…tko…. sorry mack you can kick me in the shins next time you see me…
Tim Snyder vs Aaron Barringer
this will be a fun fight…..snyder is a veteran barringer is tough. this depends on how they fight…
John Malbrough vs Ruben Melendez
i owe the maniac one…. and after dispatching Rudy…. what can i say. John Malbrough.
All in all a great card. Cant wait to see everyone bang it out!
Bellomy over Black, didn’t realize Bellomy was supposed to be one of my training partners until I ruptured my Achilles and coach Frank told me I picked against the Guy that was supposed to be helping me out with my ground game. Sorry Greg. Now that i know who Greg is, he is a beast and too much for Black.
amazing fight card! STOKED to see this! Brian via ko round 1, I feel like the rey/ray fight could go either way. I think it’ll be either rey by ko/tko, or ray by sub. Bronzoulis via tko not even a second thought on this one, Mike trains like no one i’ve ever met before and is too good of an mma fighter has too good of a chin for Harris to win this fight (I do enjoy watching harris fight but this is just not a good fight for him, sorry), Drew will win his fight via bacon hallucination (he’ll think his opponent is bacon and pull a mike tyson), bellomy (black has heart for days, but bellomy is very technical and very well rounded). Angel/Akira (obviously likely to be fight of the night, but I’m going against the grain and I’m saying angel. Akira has some great kicks, but I feel like boxing is going to decide this fight and based on what I’ve seen he tends to drop his hands a little too much) don’t know the next two guys, I didn’t see macks fight at puro combate but him at 185 is a scary thought I’m actually predicting mack tko, I like Barringer a lot as a person, but this just isn’t a good matchup for him. Snyder via viscous beating(I speak from personal experience on this one) , and finally Marlbrough, no doubt because he always seems to figure out a way to win.
Frank is right… Bellomy is a BEAST and thats a actually a bit of an understatement. Alex is a very tough fighter and a kid that i love watching…he is tough as the day is long…..but man Greg brings some sick tools to the table. also lots of power in all areas. hes like a strong 170….And no offense to greg….but hes stupid. lol. he doesnt’ know when to care or quit….no one has seen that side yet.
Greg- not IQ stupid just crazy. lol
The official after party for the Legacy fights will be at The Mens Club. Its located 3303 Sage. There will be no cover with your ticket from the fights. Great night of fights and beautiful women
This should be entertaining……………..
this is going to be a COLOSSAL: show i cant wait!!!
in my opinion, this is the best fight card we’ve seen on the local scene. way to go mick on bringing nationally elite fighters to test the skils of our top guys in texas and mainly houston. Melancon is a really tough fight for anybody no matter how you look at it. We’ll most likely get to see all aspects of his game tested in this one to go along with his strength and power. ive known and followed mike b for a while now and as long as hes not fighting one of my teammates, ill roll with him to win everytime. good luck greek. As far as the two rays/reys, damned if i know. Two serious fighters with big skill sets. I like Blodgett to slow down Trujillo with power leg kicks, leading to a later submission. My man T Ferguson is gonna show his skills off and I look for him to wear down Drew and finish with the RNC in a tough battle. Im hopin the Bad Man gets himself back on track with a W on this night too. Good luck Barringer. Really excited to see these fights go down. Speaking of getting back on track, check me out November 12 in Pasadena when i take on Lee Higgins. You wont be disappointed. -Kenny Burke
Good discussion so far guys! I love hearing everyone’s opinion, especially you fighters out there so keep it up! And good luck in your upcoming fights Kenny, Drew, Levi, and Colin!
I am not even close to becoming the fighter I want to be, but if anyone thinks they are going to see the same old Bad Man in this fight they would be wrong. Tim is a great fighter with a lot of experience and heart. I look forward to this one. My life is finally back on track and I’ve been more focused then ever.
A focused Bad Man is just that…..A BAD MAN!!! Not sure what I am more excited about; the fights or the after party.
FIGHT CARD OF THE YEAR!!!!!!
should be great. we’re in the home stretch now. hope everyone stays healthy, i can’t wait.
Ruben Melendez does not represent Silverback MMA. I just want to get that cleared.
Sorry, that’s what we were given, so that’s what we listed. I’ll update it.
Ill say it again….my privilege to fight on this card with all these guys….im gonna be fighting alongside former UFC fighters and Future UFC fighters…. believe that.
Kenny….looking forward to your match on the 12th too….im sure your ready to get back in there to buddy…..but hey…IF i beat terrence will you buy me the first beer???
if i lose ill prob be in the hospital so ill save you some jello. hehehe
Please do. Thanks.
a beer it is Drew. its gonna be a tough fight for each of you, so im sure both u and T will earn it no matter what the outcome. stay healthy.
Exited about this one. Can’t wait to test my skills against a tough opponent.
GOD BLESS EVERYONE!
Junior in the house!! Looking forward to a great show!
as am I, Junior. I have much respect and know it will be a great test.
This Is the Real Junior A and i want to let everyone know, im gonna kick brians ass for all this shit hes been talking. Nov 5 im gonna get locked up for rape.
well boys its the final stage…good luck to everyone and ill see you at the weigh ins…ive got just 30lbs to lose and ill be ready for the weighins… then its time to eat and drink and eat and drink..man i can’t wait….. good luck to Terrence…been a supporter of his since hie first fight and now im gonna get to test myself against the toughest most well rounded opponent ive faced….. GET YOUR CAMERAS READY!!! also the first time ive ever done a fight camp…these are kinda fun.
having spoken with Junior before I would suggest that the first junior would be more likely to be the real one and the second is the imposter, he doesnt talk like that and is far more professional than that
I can confirm that the last Junior Assuncao comment was NOT from the real Junior Assuncao.
i figured as much. no big deal.
guys im sorry someone made a rude coment using my name.
im not that kind of guy to write something like that.
i respect everyone i fight, its a sport for me.
brian DESCULPA i would never do something like that.
God Bless evryone for the show, win or loose let us all come home with health to our family.
Junior
What time are the fights starting?
8pm
The card is updated
I noticed the Bronzoulis/Harris fight is for the “interim Legacy FC Welterweight title”. Can someone please explain what this means, how it’s different from a normal title fight? TIA.
Great play by play so far Mike. I barely notice the typos. J/k. Seems like there have been some surprises so far. Still got the two title fights to go.
@MMA Newbie Interim means basically in between or temporary. Generally an interim title is awarded when the current title holder is unable to defend their title. Usually an injury/illness is the cause the title holder can’t fight.
Sounds like Legacy came through with another great card.Congratulations to all the fighters that competed tonight.
Paradigm goes 3-0 with all first round KO’s!!
Congrats Angel, Tim, and Mike!!!
Congrats to all the winners, especially Terrance Ferguson out of Westside MMA!
Tonight was everything I expected. Couldnt have really asked for more. Woulda loved to see Brian wreck Assuncio, but now we’ll get to see him at 170 now and i have a feeling Houston will have a whole new monster to show off. Congrats to Mike and Ray on their titles wins tonight. Tim, Alex, John, Terrance, and Angel all looked excellent in their wins tonight. Sucked to watch my boys Rey, Drew, and Arron lose tonight, but I know theyll bounce back and come back stronger. Thanks to Mick, Ragan, and the Legacy staff for another bad ass night. Ready for the next event in January.
Congrats to terrence ferguson…for those that didn’t know he came up a weight class to fight and got the win.he’s a fighters fighter. Sorry to disappoint guys …ill make up for it next time.
I Love to go after that BELT!!!!
mick has switched to some nice belts
BARRY!!!!!!!!!! MY BOY MARK IS OUT OF IRON DRAGON MMA , NOT IRON CROSS
