RD1:
We’re about set for the first fight of the night! This is Mike Calimbas doing the play-by-play for TCD as usual!
First bout of the night has some big boys at it. Measuring each other up so far. Not too much action to start off as both fighters are tentative. Hebert diving in for the takedown and catches a few punches coming in. Up against the fence now with Hebert looking to finish the takedown. Larry looking to walk up the cage as Hebert is looking for the angle Taylor dragging him down slowly now but the takedown isn’t there. Finally Crowe gets to his feet…but only long enough for a big SLAM from Hebert. Taylor looking to pass now but the fight is back on its feet! Round 1 ends with a scramble. I’ve got it 10-9 Hebert by virtue of superior positioning.
RD2:
Crowe with the straight to start the round but it doesn’t land. Hebert returns by firing a kick. Both fighters measuring now…. nothing landing yet. Hebert with a double attempt a minute in and now on top of Hebert. Working side control now and Crowe recovers guard. Another pass by Taylor. Americana attempt now and alternating with a straight armbar with 10 seconds left and the round is over.
RD3:
Crowe once again looking for the big shot to start the third but he’s lost a little steam. Taylor with the clinch and looking for the trip takedown or the back. Fighters tied up against the fence now and some dirty boxing by Hebert. Crowe looking to return the favor but swung back against the fence and taken down. Hebert working to take the back and gets it, going for the choke with 10 seconds left. Doesn’t get it. Fight over and Crowe spits his mouthpiece out.
Winner
Taylor Hebert takes it via unanimous 3-round decision. 30-27.

RD1:
This one coming up is set to be a close one. 2 well-rounded fighters. Rexroad has a recent appearance as a super cop, stopping an abduction against Mexican drug cartels this past week in Houston.  But Gardner has sported a baddass mustache in the past  hence they’re about as closely matched as they come. Craig Gardner coming out to the Beverly Hills Cop theme song. Not only that but he’s wearing man-dex into the cage! Rexroad looking serious and measured on the othe side of the cage. This is Craig’s professional debut after a stellar amateur career. Rexroad is 1-0 thus far and both these guys have fought each other before.
Gardner quickly taking the center of the cage and with a quick leg kick. Rexroad clinches immediately and now Gardner turns him and goes in for a double as Rexroad sprawls out. Stalemate on this takedown attempt so ar and now Rexroad looks to take the back. RNC by Rexroad now and its deep. Transitioning to a deep armbar and Craig working really hard to spin out but these guys are still dry. Finally Gardner is out and Rexroad shoots up a triangle! Gardner defends and working from Jeff’s full guard. Gardner now looking to pass half guard. Not too much room for either of these guys to work against the cage though. Rexroad has Gardner tied up pretty good to avoid the ground and pound. Excellent first round!
RD2:
Good jab by Craig to start the second as Rexroad is measuring with leg kicks. Craig with leg kicks of his own and these guys are in a thai fight. Craig looking to pass Jeff’s guard now against the fence. Craig now with some short elbows from on top as Rexroad looks to tie him up. Round 2 ends with Craig in Rexroad’s half guard.
RD3:
Some excellent exchanges to start the third. Big head kick by Gardner barely blocked by Rexroad. Jeff now goes in for the double and driving across the cage but Gardner gets the underhook and succeeds in stopping his momentum and sprawling out. Gardner now spinning to the back and Rexroad pulls guard, going to the kneebar. He’s in deep as Gardner punches down on to his face while defending. Jeff spinning but Gardner is now out of danger and raining down some rabbit elbows from side control. Craig on top with short elbows to end the round!
Winner
Craig Gardner pulls out the unanimous decision win over a tough Jeff Rexroad. Â Excellent debut by th Westside fighter!

RD1:  They touch gloves and here we go.  Jordan waste no time going for the takedown, no surprise there.  Jordan landing punches and elbows from the top, now working for side control and actually moves to mount.  Ruben rolls over and gives up his back.  Jordan is raining down punches now  to the head of Melendez.  Melendez withstands the punshes and rolls back.  Appeared to get to his feet but Rivas jumps on his back and pulls him back to the canvas.  Melendez trying to establish some wrist control, tries to roll and gets caught in a RNC by the Elite MMA black belt.

Jordan Rivas via Rear Naked Choke in the first round!

RD1:
Justin Murray sprinting across the cage as he steps in! Patrick Hutton walking in now to ACDC’s Thunderstruck!
Will Murray go for the takedown? Hutton circling pretty well to start. Good footwork always helps when avoiding a takedown. Usually but not his time as Murray comes in with the double leg, straight into side control. Now mounted on top of Murray but reversed. A few punches by Hutton into a scramble and Murray with another takedown. Justin now controlling from the top into a side choke for the victory!

RD3:

RD1:
Chris Spicer is walking in and looks HUGE for 185. He actually weighed in tonight at over 200 at fight time. Bush doesn’t look like he’s missing any meals or protein bars either. These guys are huge and this fight should be a barn burner as these two are amongst the top fighters in their weight class statewide.
Bubba with a spectacular takedown to start the fight. Now working from Spicer’s full guard. Spicer looking for a quick triangle after going for mission conrol. Bubba escaping and going for the GNP as Spicer looks to spin for a leg. This Bubba is vicious though and hits a high altitude belly-to-back suplex slam on Spicer. Now working north-south is Bush, controlling much of the position in this fight. Round one ends with Bubba working GNP on Spicer.

RD3:
Spicer looks to be much more tired to start the third. Bubba with another high altitude double leg to the slam. Working from side control with more elbows and short punches. Spicer trying to hip out but Bubba controlling extremely well from top side control. Now has Spicer’s back and raining down some vicious punches! Strop GNP from the back to the victory by Bubba Bush!

RD1:
Uh oh, big time grudge match in this match! Both these guys having been talking a lot headed into this one! Certainly two of the most polarizing figures in the local MMA scene as everyone seems to either love OR hate both of the guys. Not much of a middle ground here.
Big Ike is amped as he steps into the cage. Arteneas Young walking in with a huge entourage in tow. Both fighters measuring each other to start. Ike checking  jabs by Young. Ike with a big 1-2, barely misses. Ike gets the better of a quick exchange by both fighters. Chico hurts Ike’s left eye with a right hand straight down the pipe. Ike’s left eye is swelling now as Young continues to counter with crisp punches. Young using his speed to his advantage, exhibiting solid footwork. Arteneas looking like too much for Ike in the speed department as round 1 ends.
RD2:
Chico punching moving backwards as Ike rushes in. Another welt on Ike’s face, this time on the right side. Up against the cage now, Ike pushing Young against the cage. Chico Young spins out and back to center of the cage. Trading now and back against the cage. Ike looks to be trying to slow Young down by tying him up. Ref breaks up the clinch and back to center. Back again, Mike is taking a much needed break again after typing all that stuff from the last fight. <—That’s sarcasm haha
This could be Fight of the Night in my opinion. here we go!
RD1: They touch gloves and Pineda lands a leg kick. Â Both fighters working from the clench. Ray gets a semi-take down and pineda looks content to work from the ground as Ray hovers over him. Â Ray throws a wild punch that misses as he hits the mat, Pineda jumps to his fight. Â Pineda working from the back, looks to be complaining about something as he gets slammed tot he matt. Â Pineda with back controll gets his hooks locked in, slips an arm under Rey’s throat and gets him to tap!

DAMN you tube dont waste no time Ike and Young fight is up already…Id rather watch it here though im sure its a better video
WACC…you tube dont got the whole fight jus round one….maybe thats why i like cagedoor at least they are thourough…my bad..F you tube…lol
oh and last, conor, just so you know, all those “thugs” and “goons” on both sides went and shooks hands and hugged each other after the fight was over. i personally stood there and talked to Ikes mother and father for about 30 minutes after it was over. Very nice people.
@ Jermaine i hear ya bruh..good talk , but heart and power didnt get him far last night… and Heart and power alone usually doesnt decide. its all around game, something chico has. and i am far from taking anything from ike but it all comes out in the end…I dont wish anything bad for no one. Hopefully it makes Ike a better fighter. I know it has made Chico a better fighter.
Great night of fights. About time we had a fight card live up to the hype. From top to bottom, this had to be the best night of fights Houston has seen. There were several so-called “upsets” and some crazy KO’s. I spoke with JR Fuller last night after he ate the knee of Harris. His explanation was this…he said that he’s seen Harris throw a punch almost every time they do a glove-touch, so he thought it would be a great idea to shoot instead…wrong.
Great job Mick setting up this card. You created a buzz that got Houston excited and the show lived up to that and more. Very happy and honored to be a part of the team.
Was great seeing everyone.
The only question that remains un-answered is how will Mick top this card? New things are on a bright Horizon.
Sam, it just keeps getting better and better! Houston has set a new precedence for mma in Texas, wow! Thanks Mick.
This was the best card I have ever had the privilege to be a part of! Mick and Andrea always do an amazing job, and they always treat their fighters as professionals – even when I fought on their amatuer cards. If you are a fighter in this area I highly recomend trying to get on one of their shows.
Also, to my opponent Patrick Hutton – you are truely a stand up individual, and I appreciate our conversation in the back after the fight. I will be cheering for you in all of your future bouts!
Listen Jermaine, I never called anyone a “thug”, and I’m pretty sure that the continuous yelling of “f*ck you” and “I’ll kill you”, taking off of shirts, and several police having partition the two groups is the very definition of “goon”. The fact that you hugged it out 30 minutes later doesn’t mean that you weren’t acting like asses 30 minutes earlier. It detracted from a great fight between two of Houston’s best strikers. There’s a place and time for everything. In the crowd at an organized pro MMA event is not one of them.
Sounds like someone pissed in your cheerios homeboy. It really aint that serious. There was alotta heat and emotion behind the fight. We are not robots. Everyone chooses to handle situations and occurances differently. Thats part of what makes us individuals. I personally did not scream “f*ck you”, “ill kill you”, take my shirt off, or anything remotely close to that, so your assumption is not correct. My main interest was watching my teammate do what he does best and watching a great fight. I think we share the same views as far as there being a time and place for everything, but at the same time, while people were yelling and screaming at each other, i think they all know the same thing.
I was there Connor and I don’t rememebr anyone taking their shirt off or yelling I will kill you from either side. And I saw 3 police officers not really a partition.
What an awsome night of fights… I loved it. Thanks to all the fighters who made the night what it was. Im hoping to be joining you guys in the ranks up there soon. Taylor Hebert is a close personal friend of mine and so i was cheering for him despite the fact that i really like crowe and crowe has helped me train.
And to Melancon….. “Those who know, knew.” Thats all i gotta say to you homeboy. Todd is a total stud and a veteran.
Thanks Drew. You’re the only one that picked me on the predictions page other than my temamate Jeff. Appreciate it, homie.
As for the drama. they settled it in the cage, let it stay there, where it should be. Nothing else need be said.
Props again for a great event.
Conor and Jermaine,
It sounds like I must have missed something, or it was the fact my tickets had me stuck way the heck on the other side of the arena in BVMMA land. I would fair to say that 75% of the arena had no idea there was a “scuffle” other than in the ring.
I know if I was on that side of the ring, I still wouldn’t have noticed because I was too busy watching the fight- good to see both guys give it there all, and both will be better next time.
Forgot to add there was a ton of great advice coming from the “average” fans nearby…hit him…knees, knees,… kill him…
to jr fuller none of my guys i mean none of my guys ever touch gloves its not a dis to anyone but i trained in boxing all my life my coach always told me u only touch when the ref ask and when the fight is over period it mess up ur movement comeing in, when its time 2 fight its time to fight after the fights we can all be freinds in the cage its time 2 work!!!
@ Brian M. well said. It was a GREAT night of fights. Mick may have set the bar too high with this one.
@Markle, I heard twice on my side, “PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE.” This guy really knew what he was talking about. He should be a corner man.
Great fights. As much as this is gonna hurt me to say this, I’m gonna say it anyways, I agree with Rasta. Mick is gonna have a hella time topping this card. And Coner and Jermain, yall kids settle down. HaHa. Great card Mick.
im not mad or upset or anything remotely close. it was an awesome night and nothing can ruin that for me. i had more fun at legacy than i did when ufc was here. cant wait to see what mick has in store for the next one.
