Audenwood vs Reiswerg

Friday February 24 saw another great night of fights in the Legacy series. Legacy Fighting Championship 10 went down at the Arena Theatre in Houston Texas and the card had a bit of everything. The crowd was treated to a mix of submission, knock-outs, hard-fought wars and fights that went the distance.

The main event featured fast rising star Justin Reiswerg taking on New York’s Pat Audenwood. Reiswerg came out like a man possessed and dominated the fight early on, but after turning his ankle midway through the first round, he lost some of that momentum and finished up the round on his back.

After an outstanding tape job by his corner-man Cody Phillips, Reiswerg came out in Round 2 and looked like a new man. In fact, it’s this writers opinion that he won the round and was looking good going into the last round.

Bush Vs Hutton

I had it one round a piece going into the last round, with Reiswerg having the  momentum, but a head-kick that sailed over Audenwood’s head would be the beginning of the end for Reiswerg. After the kick missed, Reiswerg fell down, at which point Audenwood took his back and never gave that up, until he slid of to one side and into an armbar. Shortly there after (and after a very valent escape effort) Reiswerg tapped and the fight was over.

Our Made to Win Knock-out of the Night was on of the best knock-outs in Houston MMA history. Rey “The Warrior” Trujillo made a name for himself on the national stage with a :24 KO of Munil Adriano via a superman punch. This KO win move Trujillo to 2-0 in 2012, and will probably win him several knock-out of the year awards.

Our Made to Win submission of the night went to Bubba Bush for his outstanding  finish against Patrick Hutton. Bush waisted no time taking the fight to the ground, surprising no one. Once there, he used his superior wrestling and bjj to move to north-south and finish Hutton for the win.

Williams Vs Mendez

Our Made to Win Fight of the Night went to Cody Williams and Jesus Mendez. Williams got back on track with a great win over a really tough Mendez. Back on track now after suffering his first loss, Williams looks more focused and determined to climb the ranks fo Legacy now. Mendez surprised a lot of people  with his toughness and his skills on the ground. Mendez was a high level boxer (I’m told he was on the Olympic team) but showed he has a ton of potential in the game.  We here at TCD are excited to see more from him in the future.

All in all, LFC 10 was a really good card and it’s safe to say that Legacy has established itself as one of the  top-tier promotions in the nation.

We’ll have post fight interviews, a photo gallery and video of all 4 prelim fights coming VERY SOON!
