155 – Marcus St. Germain 0-0 Gold Team vs. Luis Lara 0-1 Metro

Rd 1  

They touch to start the fight. Lara ducks under a wild hook and lands a single leg against the fence. St. Germain delivers some shots to the body as Lara works to flatten St. Germain out. Lara takes the back during a transition. He has both hooks in. Lara makes a slick transition to the mount, but St. Germain is defending well, getting back to his feet. Lara drags him back to the mat and gets into half-guard. Lara is starting to soften St. Germain up with shots to the side of the head. He still has control, and transitions to the back again. The round ends with Lara getting a body lock.

Rd 2

Lara again works hard for a takedown, but St. Germain ends up on top against the cage. St. Germain can’t establish any offense from the top. Lara has a hold of St. Germain’s arm for a kimora from the bottom. He locks it up tight and forces the tap at 1:24 of round 2.

Rd 3

Winner: Luis Lara wins via submission at 1:24 of Rd 2.

185 – Jacob Elliott 0-0 Castro’s Fight Pit vs. Mike Eaglin 0-2 Elite MMA

Rd 1

Eaglin lands a vicious leg kick early that drops Elliot. He swarms, grabbing Elliot’s head. It looks like he’s trying for an arm-in guillotine. Elliot gets back up. They trade knees. Both fighters are all over the cage working the clinch. As they separate, Eaglin lands a nice right hand that drops Elliot. He swarms, softening Elliot up with punches to the side of the head. Elliot tries to get back up, but Eaglin slaps on a rear naked with no hooks in. They stand and Eaglin has it locked up tight. Elliot finally falls and succumbs. Eaglin forces the tap at 2:19.

145 – Eric Valdez 0-1 Metro vs. Chris Tornero 0-1 SLMMA

Rd 1

Valdez lands a leg kick early. Tornero returns the favor. Valdez shoots in for a takedown. He has Tornero on the ground against the cage. Tornero is working hard to get back up, but Valdez is strong on top. Tornero is doing a good job controling posture, but Valdez finally starts raining down shots to the face. The action stalls, then Tornero posts up, and Valdez makes him pay with a handful of shots to the face. Tornero then turns his hips for an arm bar attempt. He nearly gets it, but Valdez’s defense is solid. The round ends with Valdez on top.

Rd 2

Valdez again starts with a leg kick. He then misses a head kick and falls to the ground. He immediately gets back to his feet and lands a takedown. He’s in half guard. Valdez is controlling Tornero, but he’s not doing much damage. He’s starting to sneak a few punches through to Tornero’s face. Valdez postures up and lands a couple shots before Tornero controls his posture again. Tornero is trying hard to sneak out the side, but Valdez gets the mount in a slick transition. Tornero turns over, and Valdez has his back. He sinks in the rear naked choke, forcing the tap at 2:43.

155 – Brandon Hanna 2-2 Unleashed MMA vs. John Gorrell 1-1 Elite MMA

Rd 1

Gorrell starts with a leg kick. Hanna rushes forward with a combination that hits air. They clinch up and Gorrell has Hanna against the fence. Gorrell goes for a standing guillotine, but Hanna is defending well. Gorrell gives it up, but he has Hanna down against the cage. They work their way to the feet. Gorrell is working the knees to Hanna’s gut. Hanna makes a nice move to the back and brings Gorrell down long enough to get both hooks in. Gorrell stands up with Hanna on his back, against the cage. Hanna locks up a rear naked choke as the 10-second bell rings. The round ends with Hanna on Gorrell’s back.

Rd 2

Both fighters exchange combos against the fence. Gorrell catches a body kick, but Hanna recovers and moves him against the fence. Gorrell regains control and grabs Hanna’s head. Hanna is on his knees, with Gorrell grabbing his head. Gorrell starts working the punches. Gorrell locks up a tight guillotine and moves to mount, but Hanna survives. Gorrell is still in mount. He postures up and starts landing some right hands. Hanna turns over and reverses position as the bell sounds.

Rd 3

Both fighters exchange wild punches. Gorrell tries for a knee, but Hanna shoots in for a takedown. Gorrell works for a guillotine, but Hanna’s defense is true. Hanna is in half guard. Gorrell sweeps to end up in Hanna’s full guard. Hanna is staying active from the bottom. Gorrell finally stands up and starts slinging fists to the body and head. Hanna went for an armbar to no avail. Gorrell stands up and lets Hanna do the same. Both fighters are clearly winded. The round ends with Gorrell working punches from the top, and Hanna going for a leg lock.

Winner: John Gorrell via split decision

155 – Leroy Vazquez 0-0 SBA/Paradigm vs. Tien Nguyen 0-1 Metro

Rd 1

Nguyen goes for two leg kicks right away, missing both. He swarms Vazquez against the fence. Both fighters exchange positions against the fence. Vazquez lands a low blow to give both fighters a break. They restart. Vazquez lands a push kick. Nguyen locks up the clinch and lands some nice knees to the body. He goes for the takedown but Vazquez ends up on top. They stand back up and Nguyen lands a couple more knees. They trade right hands. Nguyen goes for a guillotine, but Vazquez takes the fight to the mat. Nguyen gets back up and lands a slick takedown of his own. The round ends with both fighters against the cage.

Rd 2

The fighters exchange. Vazquez pushes Nguyen against the cage, but Nguyen has a nice clinch and lands some knees. Nguyen gets the fight on the ground. He’s in Vazquez’s full guard. Neither fighter is mustering much offense as they lay in the middle of the cage. Vazquez is trying to sneak out the side, but Nguyen stays on top. Vazquez is working a kimora from the bottom. He uses it to sweep. He takes Nguyen’s back as the 10-second bell sounds. The round ends with Vazquez in control.

Rd 3

They touch for the final round. Nguyen lands a couple leg kicks and throws some wild hooks. Vazquez ducks under and takes it to the ground. He easily takes Nguyen’s back, locks up the rear naked choke and forces the tap at :49.

185 – Angelus McFarlane 1-0 Bam Bam vs. Roceal Houston 0-0 Soliz MMA

Rd 1

Houston starts quick with a nice combo that has McFarlane reeling. He pushes McFarlane against the cage and starts throwing serious leather to the body. One slips below the belt, forcing the ref to stop it. They touch on the restart. They tie up and exchange knees against the fence. Houston has McFarlance against the cage. They continue to trade knees. Neither fighter has a clear advantage. The action has slowed as both fighters continue to jockey for position against the cage. The crowd gets restless, imploring the ref to separate them. Houston has kept McFarlane against the fence, but McFarlane has landed more knees. McFarlane goes for a guillotine. He jumps up and wraps his legs around. The fight goes to the ground, but McFarlane hits a nice sweep and takes Houston’s back as the round ends.

Rd 2

Houston throws up between rounds. They touch to start and clinch up immediately, McFarlane gets a quick takedown and establishes side control. McFarlane is working  a Peruvian neck tie. Then transitions to a guillotine. He has it tight and forces the tap.

135 – Eric Hendon 4-4 Death Row MMA vs. Mike Trihn 0-1 Metro Fight Club

Rd 1

Trihn goes for a leg kick then works for a takedown, but Hendon’s takedown defense is solid. Trihn finally has Hendon against the fence and works a guillotine. They stand up. Trihn locks up another guillotine and pulls guard. Hendon is defending well, despite the crowd’s pleas for him to tap. He finally gets his head out and postures up, but Trihn goes for an arm bar. Hendon defends again, and takes Trihn’s back and goes for a rear naked as the round ends.

Rd 2

Trihn lands a stiff right hand to start the second, dropping Hendon. He ends up in full guard. Hendon is working mission control. Trihn can’t muster any offense from the top. Hendon is landing more shots from the bottom. Trihn finally starts working the body. He moves Hendon against the fence. Hendon rolls over, but Trihn gets back on top in full guard. Hendon is looking for a triangle, but Trihn defends and locks up a kimora. Hendon escapes. Both fighters are on their knees, and Trihn works his way back on top in full guard as the round ends.

Rd 3

Trihn rushes in with straight rights and lefts then ducks under for takedown, but Hendon ends up on top in half guard. Trihn is working hard for a sweep, but Hendon is heavy on top. he’s just laying on top of Trihn, who is attempting some shots from the bottom. Hendon finally postures up and lands some shots. Hendon is trying to free his leg, and Trihn uses the opportunity sweep and end up on top. Then Hendon re-sweeps and ends up in half guard. Trihn now reverses again. Hendon ends up back on top and throws double hammer fists as the round ends.

Winner: Mike Trihn via unanimous decision

145 – Omar Hillail 2-1 G.B. vs. Raul Rodriguez 1-1 Sugarland MMA

Rd 1

They exchange combos and kicks. Hillail lands a spinning back kick, then unloads a barrage of rights and lefts, pushing Rodriguez against the fence. Hillail lands a low knee, forcing the ref to stop the fight. They restart less than a minute later. Hillail goes for a push kick to the face, but it’s Rodriguez who pushes him against the fence. Hillail switches position. Hillail is looking for a throw, but Rodriguez defends and the fight moves back to the center. Hillail is using a full arsenal of high and low kicks, without much success. The round ends with Hillail landing a stiff right, forcing Rodriguez to duck under for a takedown attempt.

Rd 2

Rodriguez starts quick with some jabs. Hillail continues with the kicks. Rodriguez grabs a leg and pushes Hillail against the fence. He’s looking for a single-leg, but Hillail is defending well. He gives it up and Hillail breaks free. The fight moves back to the center. Hillail throws a head kick, one-two, head kick combo. Then follows with a body kick. Rodriguez can’t get any offense going. Hillail continues to kick. Finally Rogriguez forces Hillail back with some punches. Hillail reverses and puts Rodriguez against the fence as the round ends.

Rd 3

Both men look fresh to start the final round. They trade a few punches, and Rodriguez forces Hillail against the cage, but Hillail reverses. Rodriguez goes for a takedown, while Hillail looks for an arm-in guillotine. The continue to battle against the cage. Rodriguez is continually looking for a takedown, but Hillail’s defense is true. Hillail is starting to work the knees. Rodriguez goes for a guillotine. It looks tight as he tries to pull guard, but Hillail escapes and unloads a flurry of punches. The fight moves back to the cente rfo the cage. Rodriguez is finally scoring some combinations. Hillail spins for a kick as the round ends.

Winner: Omar Hillail via unanimous decision

185– Aaron Reeves 0-0 Metro vs. John Paul Moreno 1-1 Gold Team

Rd 1

They both swing wild to start. Reeves gets a takedown, but they get back to the feet immediately. Reeves is the quicker fighter, slipping and landing stiff jabs and some kicks, but Moreno is a brawler he keeps moving forward. Reeves lands a left hook that slows Moreno, but not for long. Moreno is still flicking the jab. Reeves barely misses a head kick. Reeves’ jab is too fast for Moreno. Moreno waves Reeves forward. Reeves answers with slick combo. Then he waves Moreno forward. The round ends with Reeves stalking Moreno, and landing a leg kick.

Rd 2

Moreno rushes forward with punches, but Reeves answer with a quicker combo. Moreno goes for a takedown, but Reeves easily defends. Reeves bloodies Moreno’s nose with another lightning quick combination. Reeves lands a head kick that looks to stagger Moreno. Reeves has Moreno backing up now. Moreno nearly connects with a left hook, but Reeves slips and continues to stalk. They get into a wild exchange. Reeves is still moving forward. Moreno briefly starts moving forward, but Reeves puts an end to it with some quick right hooks as the round ends.

Rd 3

Reeves goes for his first takedown and gets it easily. Moreno locks up a guillotine in half guard, but Reeves escapes. He takes Moreno’s back. Moreno gets back into half guard. They stand and Moreno lands a right hand that stuns Reeves. Reeves starts throwing that jab to keep Moreno at bay. He goes for a head kick then unloads a vicious combo that has Moreno reeling. Moreno is continually backing up. Reeves puts his hands down and waves Moreno forward. He continues to stalk moreno with his hands down. He lands a head kick then a right hand that puts Moreno on his back. Moreno turtles up as Reeves rains down the leather at the end of the round.

Winner: Aaron Reeves via unanimous decision

170 – James Powell 1-2 Fight Science vs. Ricardo Perez 1-1 SBA

Rd 1

Powell lands two inside leg kicks early. Perez wings an overhand right that just misses. Powell ties him up against the fence. Perez lands a right straight left hook combo. Powell moves for the takedown and gets a power slam. He moves to take the back, but Perez defends and starts throwing heavy leather. Powell is unfazed and locks up another arm bar, forcing the tap.

125 – Hugo De La Fuente 1-1 Bushi Ban vs. Jacob Silva 4-2 Silverback MMA

Rd 1

De La Fuenta is moving forward early, but eats a leg kick that slows him down. Silva is staying patient. He lands a quick one-two, then follows with an uppercut. After two wild kick attempts, Silva gets a takedown. He has a hold of De La Fuente’s neck. He transitions to side control after delivering some elbows to De La Fuente’s ribs. He move to mount and delivers some vicious ground and pound. He lands elbows to the back, but De La Fuente gets it back to full guard. Silva postures up and starts throwing bombs as the bell rings.

Rd 2

The second round starts with De La Fuente moving forward. Silva is content to pick his spots. He lands a push kick, then gets a takedown, landing in full guard. De La Fuente has a hold of Silva’s arm, keeping him from attacking from the top. He’s finally able to posture up and land some shots, but De La Fuente controls posture again. De La Fuente rolls for a knee bar, but Silva escapes and moves into half guard. He lands some elbows to the face and body. De La Fuente moves it back to full guard. Silva postures and tries to stack De La Fuente. De La Fuente goes for an arm bar, but Silva defends well as the round ends.

Rd 3

Silva starts with a leg kick. De La Fuente moves forward, but his offense is limited. Silva lands a left hand, but De La Fuente is unfazed. He continues to stalk. Silva is having success with the lead right and leg kick. Silva misses a flying knee. De La Fuente goes for a spinning back fist, then lands a kick to scrotum. Silva falls to all fours and immediately spits out his mouth piece. They restart. Silva lands a body kick as De La Fuente moves forward. De La Fuente tries to get a takedown after grabbing a kick. Silva then unleashes flurry of punches that hurts De La Fuente. He’s turtling up as Silva starts to tee off. De La Fuente falls to the ground and turtles up. The ref steps in to save him from further damage.

Winner: Jacob Silva via TKO at 2:50 of Rd 3

125 TITLE – Ryan Hollis 5-1 Hard Head Hitters vs. Ricky Turcios 2-0 G.B. North Houston

Rd 1

Turcios goes for a head kick. Hollis ducks under and gets the takedown. He moves to the back and gets a modified rear-naked choke, but Turcios defends and gets into full guard. They stand back up. Turcios lands some wild kicks and gets a takedown. Hollis looks to have a guillotine locked up tight, but Turcios defends and gets back in full guard. Hollis looks for a triangle, but Turcios defends again. The round ends with Turcios on his feet and Hollis looking for push kicks to the knees.

Rd 2

Hollis throws a front kick that grazes Turcios. Turcios responds with a leg kick. Now its Hollis looking for the takedown, but Turcios thwarts the attempt. Turcios has Hollis tied up against the fence. They knee each other’s legs. Turcios has a body lock and finally gets a takedown. He moves into side control. Hollis goes for the sweep and in the transition almost locks up a guillotine. Turcios stands up and dives back into full guard. Hollis nearly locks up an arm bar and triangle as the round ends.

Rd 3

Turcios goes for a body kick that Hollis catches. Hollis goes for takedown, but Turcios ends on top. Hollis grabs a guillotine, but Turcios defends again. Hollis continues to attack off his back with triangles. Turcios is in full guard, but Hollis is controlling posture. Turcios stands back up and kicks the legs. He jumps into guard again and lands some short body shots. Hollis goes for an olmaplata from his back. Turcios escapes again and the round ends.

Winner: Ricky Turcios via unanimous decision

135 TITLE – Roberto Sanchez 1-0 Gracie Barra Draculino vs. Ramiro Cortino 2-0 Silverback/RSKA

Rd 1

Sanchez goes for a flying knee. Cortino counters with some punches inside. Sanchez gets a takedown into side control against the fence. Cortino gets back up, but Sanchez has a bodylock and keeps Cortino against the fence. Cortino switches position. He lands some foot stomps. Then they exchange knees. The action slows and the ref restarts. Cortinos lands a combo as Sanchez goes forward. They clinch up against the fence again. Cortino lands a huge slam, but Sanchez has a guillotine locked up as the round ends.

Rd 2

They exchange front kicks. Sanchez ducks under a one-two. They clinch up against the fence, and Cortino lands some hard knees. Sanchez goes for the takedown, and finally gets it. Cortino is sitting against the fence. He grabs the fence to get back to his feet. Sanchez lands some good knees to the abdomen and legs. They move back to the center of the cage and exchange jabs. Sanchez has his lead hand down. Cortino lands another big takedown at the end of the round.

Rd 3

Sanchez lands two right hands early. They exchange combinations. Cortino lands a leg kick. Sanchez ducks under two straight rights and clinches up against the fence. He lands a couple knees before they move back to the center. Sanchez gets a taekdown, but Cortino doesn’t stay down for long. They are tied up against the fence. Sanchez has a body lock and goes low for a double-leg takedown. Cortino gets a takedown against the fence. Sanchez is looking for a triangle and gets it as the round ends.

Winner: Sanchez via split decision

155 TITLE –  Julian Vega 155 Elite MMA 1-0 vs. Delis Borges 2-1 Pervlasky’s Muay Thai

Rd 1

Vega immediately shoots for a single leg. Borges defends well, but Vega is relentless. Vega gets the mount. Borges turns over and Vega gets his back. Borges escapes and gets on top, but Vega has a triangle tight, then goes to an arm bar. Then the referee inexplicably stops it and resets them. Vega is upset, but the fight continues. They stand back up. Vega goes for the takedown again and Borges grabs a guillotine as the round ends.

Rd 2

Vega goes for a takedown early. He pulls guard, but quickly switches and goes to side control. Borges recovers half guard, but Vega is lightning quick in the transition and snatches up another arm bar. This time there is no doubt about the tap.

Rd 3

Winner: Julian Vega via submission

185 TITLE – Robert Yamashita 1-0 Elite MMA vs. Kaileb Cummings 3-2 Death Row MMA

Rd 1

Cummings comes out light footed. Yamashita shoots for a double leg, then switches to a single. Cummings defends well. Yamashita lands the takedown. He has both legs trapped, but Cummings is using the cage to stand back up. Yamashita holds on to a body lock. They keep the clinch and exchange knees. Yamashita dives low again and gets Cummings on the ground. Yamashita has a standing guillotine, but Cummings escapes. He lands some knees, but Yamashita gets a slick takedown, landing in mount. He starts throwing punches from the top just as the round ends.

Rd 2

Yamashita reaches for the clinch, but Cummings backs away. Yamashita wades in with some punches, but Cummings defends. Yamashita then lands a thudding leg kick. Cummings returns fire with  body kick that lands flush. Yamashita shoots in. Cummings pulls guard and goes for a guillotine. Yamashita escapes. Cummings gets a nice sweep into mount. Yamashita escapes and the fight is back in the center of the cage. Cummings lands a high kick then follows with a body kick. Yamashita rushes forward with front kick followed by a spinning round house as the bell sounds.

Rd 3

Yamashita throws a punch then shoots. Cummings defends against the cage, but Yamashita gets it to the ground. Cummings has a hold of his head but there is no danger. Yamashita moves to side control. He gives up the position to land some punches then mounts. Cummings rolls and Yamashita takes his back with both hooks in. He moves into an arm bar then transitions to a triangle forcing Cummings to tap.

Winner: Robert Yamashita via submission
