Back for their third show in Houston and their sixth overall, the IXFA returned to the Verizon Wireless theatre on Saturday February 26, 2011. A sold out crowd (the third straight MMA sell out in Houston) was treated to a total of 8 stoppages, 7 of them of the KO/TKO variety.
Gilbert Jiminez, Josh Foster, Shaw Machado, Jared Taylor, Marc Ramirez, Ike Villaneuva and Derrick Lewis all turned in TKO victories on the night. Jiminez, Ramirez, Villaneuva and Lewis would get their wins in the first, while Foster Machado and Taylor would only need two rounds to earn their victory.
The lone submission of the night came from Andrew Craig, who showed he’s just as slick on the ground as he is standing. Craig was able to catch Kirk early in the second, and once he had it locked it, it was only a matter of time
Only two fights went the distance, those being Pat Bierschwale vs Jeremy Morris and Larry Crowe vs Jordan Clissold. Bierschwale won a split decision in his pro debut. An amateur main stay, Bierschwale is sure to be in th mix at 170 in the future. Larry “Tae Kwon” Crowe improved to 3-1 with his unanimous decision win over the tough and resilient Jordan Clissold.
The award winners for the night were Shawn Machado and Tony Orozco winning fight of the night, Andrew Craig winning Submission of the night and Marc Ramirez winning KO of the night.
Quick Results
Gilbert Jiminez def. Alex Black via TKO in Rd 1

Notes
Terrance Ferguson was taken to the hospital, but Richard Burmaster (B3 Sports/1560 AM’s “The Mount”) reports that Ferguson is OK and has already said he would like a rematch. Ferguson was kept over night for observation.
Speaking of rematches, Jon Kirk asked for one and Andrew Craig said yes, but lets see if the happens.
Tony Orozco suffered a dislocated shoulder in his fight, but that didn’t stop him from still cornering his fellow Silverback fighters Larry Crowe and Derrick Lewis.
Jimmy Flick and Humberto DeLeon squared off in the cage to make their April 23 bout official. No love lost between these two.
Adam Schindler announced to the crowd that he would be fighting for Bellator in their Featherweight tournament. Read about it here.

WAY TO GO SHAWN TEAM HOGER ALL DAY!!!
P.S DERRICK I C U BIG HOMIE……
ohhhh yeah i wanted to say to Shawn….to me that was very impressive. Tony is NO SLOUCH. he came out and showed fast hands and quick feet. not bad for two old geezers…but shawn transitioned smoothly from one attack to another. he went hands to knees to kicks and clinch and td…i was impressed. it was something. shawn looked the best ive seen him for sure. he picked the right punches and the right combos and al that. Those two dudes delivered on what they said….they said they would entertain us with a war and the oldest guys on the card showed everyone else to how to scrap!! it was awesome
This might not be the best way to go about it but I’m left with no other choice. Looking for a fight for Justin Ledet. Can’t seem to get any takers. No replies from Legacy and Ixfa is trying but can’t seem to find someone worth fighting . And I don’t mean any disrespect but I have plans for my guys and that means not staying on local shows forever. He’s number 3 on the rankings and we aren’t looking to take a step back in competition. But at this point almost anyone will do. Any suggestions fellas? Maybe you guys can spark something up. Already have Edgar Verdin making his return on the April Ixfa card against Mac at 185.

Great story! You must have met those guys right after Belfort made his debut at Superbrawl and right before he went to the UFC to fight Tra. Nice!
Ike vs Ledet would be a huge fight. 2 powerful strikers that love to stand up and bang. Whats not to like about that ? You pretty much know that someones going to sleep.
Verdin vs Mack, bout freakin time. Its been talked about for a year now and its finally gonna happen, and I for one will be ready to see it. Dont really care who wins, but Ill be the guy in the crowd cheering for a good fight.
JJ, instead of talking about what your boys gonna do, why dont YOU do it. Tim is also one of my boys as is Alex, and neither of them is on here talking shit, so you shouldnt be either.
collin is working on a fight I want for july 16th legacy 205 title vs robert villegas. im ready to step my game up to the next level. as for ledet, he better ready for the hurricane if he gets a shot. great coverage of ixfa event cage door.
