On Saturday April 9th Grand Prix Grappling proudly presents its premier Spring event, the Texas International Grappling Festival. If you haven’t been out to this even before, you should plan on coming. Previous attendees include Joe Rogan (UFC Commentator) and Eddie Bravo (10th Planet Jiu Jitsu). Last year’s event had almost 400 competitors, just one week after the Pan Ams event in California. Not bad at all when you consider that most grapplers had exhausted their resources.
This even always does well from both a competition and fans perspective. Along with a great field of competitors, Elbert and crew have put together some great super fights.
Black Belt GI Event:
Igor Santos, GF-Paradigm vs Alejandro Sequeira, Gracie Barra
Expert No-Gi Event:
Brandon “Wolverine” Mullins, Gracie Barra vs Spencer Gilliam, Solis Martial Arts Academy
Brown Belt GI Event:
Raul Jimenez, Gold Team Fighters vs Jeremy Loflin, Paul Thomas BJJ
Teen No-Gi Superfight:
Hector “WBV” Silva, Gracie Barra-Westchase vs Matthew Ham, Paul Thomas BJJ
Early bird registration ended Monday April 4th at midnight. Online registration ends 12 noon on Thursday April 7th.
