2010 has been a great year for Houston MMA, so it is with great pleasure that we announce the finalist for our first ever awards, the 2010 Houston MMA Awards, sponsored by Furia Fight Wear. This year there are 4 major categories of awards: Pro Awards, Amateur Awards, Community Awards and Fighter of the year (pro and amateur).
What follows below are the community award nominees, sponsored by the IXFA. Each winner in this category will receive 2 vip tickets to the next IXFA show on February 26, 2011 (No tickets will be given for card of the year).
These awards are called Community awards because all of the winners for the awards listed on this page are decided by the Houston MMA community only (no panel votes or formulas will be factored in).

Out if curiosity, what were the guidelines used to choose nominees for the community service award?
Also, will there be any info added to show merit for all these worthy nominees so the voting public can vote on substance rather than just rugged good looks?
We took into account time, money and support donated to various causes that were supported by the houston mma community. Most of the nominees participated in multiple events and/or raised or donated money to charities.

If I had a vote which I dont. lol I would throw my vote Conors way! Helping out with One Scene and MMA Covering Houston, but everyone that helps out in any of these charaties are winners already! Nice job all you guys nominated
Boss, (you and everyone else) will have a vote starting on Dec. 28 when the voting starts. As I put in the opening of the post, ALL community awards will be decided by a vote by the houston mma community.
